RT33
I've owned my skyline for about 11 months or so now and for quite a while there has been a rattle when revving around 2.5-3 grand. When i accelarate slow the sound is very faint or not noticable. Some have suggested it could be the exhaust but i'm not sure. Now that i'm working again i feel it's time to get the poblem fixed. Has anyone experienced this or heard of anything similar? Any help is apprecieated! Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/19507-ratteling/ Share on other sites
hippy
what kind of rattle ?? it could be anything?? check that there are no wires hitting the driveshaft .. that will cause a loud rattle .. so yeah check to see that there isnt' any loose wires anywhere under the car ... exhaust shouldn't rattle when u accelerate, also could be a loose panel somewhere .. DanS15
Yeah would help if you could be more specific but it could be your catalytic converter or a muffler. Could be one of the heatsheilds under the car. You have to go over the car and tap everything to try and produce the rattle. Is it rattling when the exhaust is hot or cold or both. RT33
when the exhaust is cold the rattel is fairly loud (noticable over the exhaust when the windows are up) but after a bit of driving the rattel is less noticeable or not there at all. The rattel is only there when revs are 2.5-3 grand, if it were loose pannels or wires hitting wouldn't rattel constantly?? AeroGrace
also check if your kit's gone loose or something, the last time i had an annoying rattle i tracked it down to a poorly mounted rear pod....the screws came loose. netrati
Could it be the clutch? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/19507-ratteling/#findComment-470443 Share on other sites
