nah u no i still love ya buddy lol :P

No sweatski Mic. I dont hate 32's but every school holidays twits like our mystery come out to stir the pot. Who better than a silly old fart to act like a kid and play with the tool.

Lets face it, If it werent for me entertaining him he may get bored and injure himself with a razor sharp icy pole stick or worse.

You never know, he may even grow a pair and offer to put his precious 32 on the line at the bank or QR. Might even offer pinks. :D:woot:

Back on topic.........How would people react to an MGA roadster re-built from ground up with an rb25det thrown in the bang bang end for laughs. The only problem is fitting the gear box gates without trashing the interior for originality values. Will be in the climbs and tarmac meets in around 8 months. Hopefully.... Parts are very hard to find. Shell and frame finished, engine on site, just need a few cosmetics and loom to finish the girl off. Anyone with connections for tuning or MG parts ppllleeaase let me know. Project has been going about 3 years and 10grand. Cant wait to raise a few eyebrows @ meets and drive the bastard like it was stolen. ;) Regards Simmo

If the Queensland MG car club is anything like the Victorian one, they’ll hate you. Funny conversion though..

Progress photos?

Ye old whore town freaks... get back over there!

My puta is in the shop.. it had a melt down. I come back to see thread hi-jacked by kids and boats. What the?

I see it like this:

1: Shut up untill u go to a race, drift or skid pan type of a track. Then carry on about who's car is a dunger.

2: Kids should be sent to the naughty corner... even older kids! (Noel)

I am currently building an off road mini buggy.. a very mean spirited type of thing. It has plans, but i think they are way to weak for my kind of off roading! I know my mates( ..and I, will get carried away).. this poor thing will get its nuts revvvvved off, jump high enough to scare all of you and enough power to drag a modist skyline. I am taking a race car approach to the build. I am planning on a 1200cc engine. if it doesn't go fast enough.. there is always boost!

Now, it wont be for the road.. but almost as crazy as an rb25 in an mgb! ohh, speaking of which, I met an old Canadian engineer who put a 350 chev into an mg. could have been an mgb. he even fitted posi-track! hahaha But just goes go show that with some thought and homework, you can plug all sorts of weird stuff together..

but that doesn't mean you should.. me included!

i know this is heaps off topic sorry guys... but why the hate against rb20det's...... i got one in ma vl wagon and can tow a ton in the trailer literally(its my work car :) )... sure u need to revv it a little lol but they r still good engines also very ecinomical. also have 32gtr sure they r small.... but do what they r made to do. also have friends with 33's larger more cruizy and comfy and yes the rb25's put a smile on my face. i say less haters and more appreciation for what a car has going for it rather than what a car doesnt have going for it..

on topic seen a tickford blue punch buggy(v dub) and from the sounds of it definatly a wrx engine.... it sure flexed aswell owner looked in his 50's ;). also seen a datto with some sort of electrical fan on the intake... owner said he gained roughly 3 kw aaahahahahahahahaha.

oh saw a stock vt commie with hubcaps and a spoiler that was larger and higher than a d1 drift car! i had a good chuckle.

when i was little i tried to hook a clothes dryer blower unit to my carby...... to no resolve.. i had my heart set on it for months when i was 15 aahahaha ;)

does 2 out of 3 cut it. Skid pan, track days. shove drifting where the sun dont shine. Its for flat cappers who cant drive. (usually silvias and 32's)

Aint no dungers out there man, Some are just better than others. :P

:P:O Ouch! That hurts....

I would like to get into say time attack runs... I like my car too much to have sum1 on my ass and right next to me running around a track though in proper races. Till then, drifting FTW :(

On topic: any shitbox that has like fluroish or brightly coloured windscreen wipers..... I throw up from a mile away. Please just don't.

You mean to say wet roads and stock ke70's with cut springs dont make you a good driver?

They dont!?

Anyway. Back on topic again.

I saw some dude in an electric wheel chair on the gateway motorway going the wrong way southbound, he was heading north, around the airport. Now THATs something you shouldnt see on the road! Fing funny tho!

I remember years ago I saw an Excel with huge TURBO stickers that took up the bottom of the doors on both sides of the car. He nailed it beside me and it was definitely not turbo (no induction noise and slow as hell), but it DID have one of those godawful "turbo" tips on the exhaust... It also had an enormous spoiler, and when quizzed he explained that it was for "traction off the line".

"Cannon" mufflers shouldn't be seen on cars, turbo or not.

*waits for "cannon" fags to try an flame me*

just in reply to this comment( im not gonna flame u its not my style and im not a fag either) my car came from japan with a 3.5 inch jasma exhaust system yes it has a cannon. why do all top import makes e.g. hks, Greddy and the list goes on and on come with cannon mufflers...... can you answer this please? if it comes down to personal prefferance why call so many of us out there fags? why start an argument for nothing?

picture attatched. whats so bad about it?

They all also make “pancake” style mufflers. The demand is higher for cannons (normally just the cannon it’s self for rice boys in Civics), thus more are made across the board. That and the misconception that only cannons flow..

I’ve had most of the off the shelf Japanese “cannon” exhausts, normally they are fitted right (in terms of angle) like your GTR, my issues with hate towards them are when idiots buy a cheap item and weld them on, on ridiculous angles and due to the poor quality muffler it sounds rubbish.

Prime example is some tool in my street with an R32, has gone an got himself a mangaflow cannon on a stupid angle, my Hino truck I hired from budget rental sounded better..

There are plenty of options:

worst thing seen in a car...in general SR20's..

You make a valid point.

Nissan thought, bugger us we need a new engine for our beloved Silvia, lets just turbo the pulsar sr20 and make it RWD to keep everyone happy for a few more years.

The Sr20 came out in 1990 correct?

And did 1990 pulsars have an SR20 installed in them? No only the GTiR's (which were already turbo)

Therefore the engine was placed in both of the cars turbocharged at around that time (silvia had turbo SR20 in early 1991)

It wasnt till late 1991 that the n14 pulsars came out in SSS (Sr20) non turbo edition.

In my point of view the Sr20 is a very good engine. Especially for its time... and definatly an enhansement from the CA18 (unless the CA18 is modifed).

I have also seen numerous good example of powerful Sr20's around also.

PS. This is not a flame post. just what i thought about the SR. Plus i have to stick up for silvia's seeing as i have owned two of them.

EDIT: And the few more years that they have been made was an extra 9 or 10 for the S14 and S15 200sx's and only recently has ceased from production due to the Nissan buy out by Renault for emmisions standards.

    • Update 3: Hi all It's been a while. Quite a lot of things happened in the meantime, among other things the car is (almost) back together and ready to be started again. Things that I fixed or changed: Full turbo removal, fitting back the OEM turbo oil hardlines. Had to do quite a bit of research and parts shopping to get every last piece that I need and make it work with the GT2860 turbos, but it does work and is not hard to do. Proves that the previous owner(s) just did not want to. While I was there I set the preload for the wastegates to 0,9bar to hopefully make it easier for the tuner to hit the 370hp I need for the legal inspections that will follow later on. Boost can always go up if necessary. Fitted a AN10 line from the catch can to the intake hose to make the catchcan and hopefully the cam covers a slight vacuum to have less restrictive oil returns from the head and not have mud build up as harshly in the lines and catch can. Removed the entire front interior just shy of the dashboard itself to clean up some of the absolutely horrendous wiring, (hopefully) fix the bumpy tacho and put in LED bulbs while I was there. Also put in bulbs where there was none before, like the airbag one. I also used that chance to remove the LED rpm gauge on the steering column, which was also wired in absolute horror show fashion. Moved the 4in1 Prosport gauge from sitting in front of the OEM oil pressure gauge to the center console vents, I used a 3D printed vent piece to hold that gauge there. The HKB steering wheel boss was likely on incorrectly as I sometimes noticed the indicator reset being uneven for left vs. right. In the meantime also installed an airbag delete resistor, as one should. Installed Cube Speed premium short shifter. Feels pretty nice, hope it'll work great too when I actually get to drive. Also put on a fancy Dragon Ball shift knob, cause why not. My buddy was kind enough to weld the rust hole in the back, it was basically rusted through in the lowermost corner of the passenger side trunk area where the wheel arch, trunk panel and rear quarter all meet. Obviously there is still a lot of crustiness in various areas but as long as it's not rusted out I'll just treat and isolate the corrosion and pretend it's not there. Also had to put down a new ground wire for the rear subframe as the original one was BARELY there. Probably a bit controversial depending on who you ask about this... but I ended up just covering the crack in the side of the engine block, the one above the oil feed, with JB Weld. I used a generous amount and roughed up the whole area with a Dremel before, so I hope this will hold the coolant where it should be for the foreseeable future. Did a cam cover gasket job as the half moons were a bit leaky, and there too one could see the people who worked on this car before me were absolute tools. The same half moons were probably used like 3 times without even cleaning the old RTV off. Dremeled out the inside of the flange where the turbine housing mates onto the exhaust manifolds so the diameter matches, as the OEM exhaust manifolds are even narrower than the turbine housings as we all know. Even if this doesn't do much, I had them out anyways, so can't harm. Ideally one would port-match both the turbo and the manifold to the gasket size but I really didn't feel up to disassembling the turbine housings. Wrapped turbo outlet dumps in heat wrap band. Will do the frontpipe again as well as now the oil leak which promted me to tear apart half the engine in the first place is hopefully fixed. Fitted an ATI super damper to get rid of the worn old harmonic balancer. Surely one of the easiest and most worth to do mods. But torquing that ARP bolt to spec was a bitch without being able to lock the flywheel. Did some minor adjustments in the ECU tables to change some things I didn't like, like the launch control that was ALWAYS active. Treated rusty spots and surface corrosion on places I could get to and on many spots under the car, not pretty or ideal but good enough for now. Removed the N1 rear spats and the carbon surrounding for the tailpipe to put them back on with new adhesive as the old one was lifting in many spots, not pretty. Took out the passenger rear lamp housing... what do you know. Amateur work screwed me again here as they were glued in hard and removing it took a lot of force, so I broke one of the housing bolts off. And when removing the adhesive from the chassis the paint came right off too. Thankfully all the damaged area won't be visible later, but whoever did the very limited bodywork on this car needs to have their limbs chopped off piece by piece.   Quite a list if I do say so myself, but a lot of time was spent just discovering new shit that is wrong with the car and finding a solution or parts to fix it. My last problem that I now have the headache of dealing with is that the exhaust studs on the turbo outlets are M10x1.25 threaded, but the previous owner already put on regular M10 nuts so the threads are... weird. I only found this out the hard way. So now I will just try if I can in any way fit the front pipe regardless, if not I'll have to redo the studs with the turbos installed. Lesson learned for the future: Redo ALL studs you put your hands on, especially if they are old and the previous owners were inept maniacs. Thanks for reading if you did, will update when the engine runs again. Hope nothing breaks or leaks and I can do a test drive.
    • No those pads are DBA too  but they have colors too. I look at the and imo the green "street" are the best.
    • I’m not sure what happened I told them about sonic tunes free OTS tune and the next the I know .. I was booted..   To funny
    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
