well, its almost d-day, been looking at 4door NA R34 and may have found 1

6/99 model r34 gt, silvery/light gray colour, usual features, 62K, 11mths rego

asking 15K.

pretty sure its series 1

checkd for most obvious and usual things as far as wear and tear to reflect mileage.

all round pretty good and straight. unfornatelly no aero kit. gone through search for lots of info.

bad points...no cd player(stock cassete deck) mite be a good thing

its got jap style snow tyres..very noisy, easy to change

no keyless entry, only have 1 key, will be puting alarm

have looked at plenty, from $14000 to $18000, but some are ok, not so ok and crap condition (im very fussy)

questions....do they all have traction control and LSD?

are all the climate control section the same?

have seen sum with white faced dash, what model is it?

cant believe i mite get a 34, it just fits in the garage, will go nicely next to the r32 !!!

opinions ???

Edit: more I think about it, if I was looking for a NA sedan I'd put the fact that it's a skyline out of my mind. I'd look at the features and condition and then compare it to what other 1999 NA 6 cylinder sedans I could get and would probably be asking myself if it's worth 15k.

I dunno, personally I'd save my pennies/wait for prices to drop more and get a turbo, but then I'd also get a coupe.

Since you mentioned a 32 maybe you have a GT-R or a gtst and this is the "other car".

Dunno, to me a skyline shines as being a bang-for-buck performance car and not sure I'd personally want to pay as $15k to what basically translates to a 4 door family car, almost 9 years old that probably has similar equipment levels to a well-optioned maxima or avalon.

I think all 34s would have traction control, though not so sure about LSD.

Silvery/light grey sounds same as mine - sonic silver metallic, KR4. Really sweet colour imo - a bit more darker than regular silver but much lighter than gunmetal. Only came on the 34s and series 2 33s, and I think possibly the later 300zs.

Pain in the ass tho that I'm pretty sure Nissan actually sold cars in this colour new in australia past 2000 but still have to mix the shade up for touchups etc.

    • Ok thanks..that was my second question if i can somehow bypass this even with Nistune(that is all i have right now...aparat from stock ECU. So with some aftemarket it can by "bypassed" or make it work?  I know there is Link or Haltech (mainly used). We have ECUmaster here so i will gather some info about it.
    • Yes. You will need to get the original boost sensor and wire it in. That is.... if you plan to use a stock ECU - even a Nistuned ECU. The Nissan ECU will not operate correctly without it connected. And yes, it will do annoying stuff like you are experiencing. You will almost certainly be better off with some aftermarket ECU, than trying to hunt down rare sensors.
    • Ok so ABS/TCS is "not" the problem. Yeah i know now about the ABS with Nistune(i told that to the Nistune guy) but iam not 100% why or why i dont have ABS. ABS cube is in the engine (always has been) but i had braked couple of times rly hard and brakes just locked and scream. Does all Skylines have ABS cube? That boost sensor https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/367633-wtb-r34-gtt-turbo-pressure-sensor-pics-inside/ Is this it? I need to ask but i have a picture of engine bay and i do not see that (100% is not in that place) If i do not have this the car can do what mine is?(cutting around 4000 rpm) Here is the pic of my engine bay(only one i have) BUT i think i dont have that cuz loom was used from my RB20DE NEO and i know (obviously) that it does not have boost control or any wire to that...) so maybe that is the problem? (i dont know for 100% if that car where the engine is from had that)...but i dont have the loom from that
    • I'm with you here. It's either loom has an issue, OR, injectors are not functioning properly. It could even be they're just constantly dribbling, hence the wet, but not firing.
    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
