I have a 98 GTT and want to fit some vented front fenders but I'm not sure if I should get the GTT or GTR vented front fenders.

Anyone know the difference between the GTT aftermarket vented front fenders and the GTR aftermarket vented front fenders? Are the GTT vented front fenders smaller in terms of clearance? Would it be better to get the GTR vented front fenders so I can fit wider rims if the clearance is bigger?

The style of fenders for the GTT I'm talking about are these.. The GTR vented fenders are similar I'm guessing... I never seen them clearly. I'm not talking about the 'horned' looking vented fenders for the GTR.. just the plain vented ones. Thanks for any help on this!

I found these on the Japan Yahoo Auction.. they cost around $235 USD after conversion. I know someone who you can get a quote from and will send them to you. Go to www.RHDJapan.com The owner is Russell Hobbs and Patrick Antell. E-mail them with the picture of the fender and they will get you a quote. They can actually get you anything. I bought my BCNR33 RB26DETT from them. If you don't know the product name you can send them a picture of what you want and they can find it and price it. I live in S.Korea so the prices are good for me.. I don't know how they'll be for you guys.

..but back to my question. What is the difference in clearance with the two fenders? Anyone fitted the GTR vented fenders on a GTT before?

no i mean if he changes his fenders to gtr ones

ah tru, misunderstood that, if there isnt a great deal of difference then might as well go for the gtt ones,

I wouldnt mind a set, at 235$US (per set?) i think its worth while, of course it would also require the re-spray

I just check my e-mail for the exact price... 31,290 JPY http://www.xxx-treme.jp/parts/fender_er34.htm I guess they do R33 and R32 vented fenders too.

R33cruiser, thats what i'm talking about. How many mm difference would it be if i were to get the do luck gtr vented fenders

vs the GTT stock fenders.

And does anyone know if these GTT vented fenders are wider or just a stock replacement.

Hey thanks 4 ur help! Much appreciated :D

and if u change ur front fenders, dont u then need to change ur front bar?

yup, I plan on changing my front bar to East Bear, bonnet to East Bear Aero and fenders to either do-luck gtr aero or gtt vented. I just need to know what the mm difference is so I can buy my rims and have them sit nicely.

Going by what i used to have on my R33, the vented GTT guards are about 20mm wider, but taper back to meet with the factory front bumper mount locations.

If you go the GTR guards, you will require a bonnet, hinges, front bumper and a few other alterations to get it all to fit. But overall wheel clearance is much more than the GTT vented guards, as the GTR's front bumpers sit out about 50mm wider than a GTT and the guards don't taper in.

we got R34 GTR guards to suit R34 GTT if you cant find any see http://www.uras.com.au/syohin/skyline.html#r34 from memory they are $649 and genuine URAS bolt on replacements

    • Possibly avoid using a Cometic one unless the deck/head surface are perfectly flat. I did have a look just then and forgiving gaskets such as Tomei or Nitto don't exist for the FJ20, however the Bar-Tek or Kameari ones look good and might do the trick.
    • Because pipe threads for pipe things. M threads for bolt things. Throw some teflon sealant onto it and dust your hands off knowing you did the right thing, instead of going twice around the block to achieve a result using the wrong things. Of course, all of these solutions are ignoring the fact that the minimum thread pitch we're talking about here is 1.25mm, with the 1/4" in NPT or BPS being out around 1.4mm. You will need to know that the boss you're tapping has enough thickness for at least a few threads. That's one of the reasons that 1/8" is commonly used - because the pitch is <1mm. And why would you look to use 1/4" NPT in a BSP country anyway? Ugh.
    • Just throwing around ideas, does it need to be in the compressor cover? Why not the hot side piping?
    • 1/8NPT drill size = 8.7mm. Since the hole got messed up by me, it’s probably around 9mm.    So 1/4” NPT would be next step. A drill size of around 11mm would be preferred there which is not way of my M12 (drill 10.5mm and tap M12 threads)
