We had some club says down there just recently, and there's some talk of doing another possibly February, or maybe middle of next year when it's cooler (you'll thank them for that idea, i promise).

Basically we did a set of mapped out cone courses which help teach braking and cornering, while having a crap-load of fun. First few laps we had instructors with some of us to help give us some pointers and then we could choose to do it ourselves or keep getting some more (very good) advice from the instructors.

Make sure you get a big group together first, it can be pretty costly if you're booking in smaller numbers.

IF you do go ahead PM me...

Always on the lookout.

www.youtube.com/superkiri - there's a shitload of clips from a SilWA day we there.

Don't expect a driftfest tho... Unless they know you can drive, there are limits on how much sliding you can do...

Join SAUWA, there is talk of another one coming up as Levi said. It is really good fun, and you learn a lot too. Not only what you are capable of, but also what your car is actually capable of

I will be planning a SAUWA driver training in Feb sometime. (probably midmonth).

I have also looked at doing a timed event in March. Everyone express's interest in doing timed events, however from what i can gather there are only a handful of members with competiton licenses (Cams, AASA). As soon as enough people with licenses get interested, we will run such events.

All events are basically Member Invites. Only if i dont fill the spot with members does it go to public SAUWA folks (this has not happened yet)....so if you want in, sign up and keep an eye out in the members area. I will be setting something up in the next few weeks.

Cheers

Brad, finally got my ass into gear and signed up to SAUWA (lodged the form and paid my fee yesterday), now I need to figure out what competition license to get.. and how to go about it.. help!

FOr the license it depends on what events you want to compete in. The AASA license is pretty much only good for AHG, where as a cams license (Speed level 2 i think it si) is good for pretty much every event (Ahg, Wanneroo, speed events, hill climb, drift etc etc )

I think (dont quote me to the dollar) but the AASA lic for 12 months is $55? and a CAMS lic is $88 per year? However, to acquire a CAMS lic you need to be a member of a CAMS affiliated club.

My recommendation is to join the NOLIMIT EVENT (www.nolimitevents.com) club. Its $12 per year. You cant join them unless you do one of thier events. They have a Wanneroo track night at the end of this months. (31st). Due to day light savings, we get to use the long track until about 8.30pm. :)

What more can i help you with? ;)

That i dont know. AASA is in Qld so i assume it would have to be pre purchased?

At the moment i think SAUWA next AHG driving event will be in March. Its very possible that Late feb we will have a Dyno day event. It will be posted up once everything is in place. :)

    • Nice shot! They look super clean. The roof rack delete on the black one is interesting. Would like to see more pictures from different angles. It's subtle but could make quite a difference to how the car looks in profile.
