if its 1992 model its either brought in as race use only, in which you CANNOT comply it, or it has to be imported through a RAWS workshop, who do the compliance work....

I sure hope you haven't bought a race only vehicle thinking it could be complied....

did you get any paperwork when you bought it??

compliance for sevs vehicles is usually minimum $2500

you can get quotes for basic compliancing, they do vary a bit.they will give you just the basic compliance checklist that is complusory and will cost lest 2 or 3 k.eg.the cat conversion is dear...they will only change brake pads and other needed repairs if needed and you tell them to do it.

It CAN be complied if it's manufactured in June '92 or later. Check the VIN to see what month it was made in.

Other than that, it can't since Nissan brought in those models themselves from mid '91 until mid '92.

who holds the import approval?

1992 r32 ?

your screwed if you want compliance .it can NOT be complied for road use

if its a 1992 australian delivered skyline all it needs is to be roadworthy and pit passed

a 1992 R32 should have side intrusion bars in the doors already.

It has to be complied by a RAW under the SEVS scheme. If its been in the country for over a year you might not be able to comply it. For it to be in the country already a RAW must have its paperwork, so your first job would be to transfer that paperwork from the RAW that imported it to the RAW that you choose to comply it.

Unless as posted previously its a race import... in which case you can't road register it anyways.

Best bet is to ring DOTARS and run the VIN number by them to see who holds the paperwork for it. If they say "that car was meant to be destroyed or re-exported a while back" well... heh good luck with that.

  • 2 weeks later...

correct, Nissan brought in the R32 GTR only, but that doesn't matter. It's just the R32 part that matters, so the ruling applies to all R32's, regardless of whether they're GTR's or GTS-T's. From chassy number (R32 GTS-T) HCR32 271123 onwards is ok.....

took us a while to figure that one out....if you need to know the chassy numbers for non-turbos, gts-4 and gtr's, email me or give us a call....

might cost you a beer or two, haha.

david @ carizma

I thought it shouldn't matter what year the car is (unless it was brought under the 15yo rule?)

It's a gts-t and they were never brought into australia in full volume were they?

Good luck sorting it out buddy.

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
