This is our 99Z subwoofer, as used by Alan Dante, the loudest man ever, 180.5dB.

It's not cheap (at around $5000), but it is the very best you can get.

Our course, we have "normal" speakers as well, even our entry level 512 ($249) is hand made in the USA in the same factory, by the same people, with the same glues and materials as used in the 99Z.

All DD gear is designed for sonic excellence. A lot of people make the mistake of thinking that it's "SPL only", this is definitely not the case. We win in SPL because of efficiency, power handling and being over engineered.

A single DD woofer can outperform 3-4 "normal" woofers. A lot of people use our 1508 8" woofer as it kills most other 12s. This saves weight and money.

Apologies for that - I've never heard of Digital Designs before in my life, also I'm going to sue Pioneer for false advertising on their site, stating they've won the main world wide SPL comp many a year in a row. However I still don't see how a 12" sub pushing a max of 1000watts is anywhere near the class of a 15" pushing 15,000 peak and 7,000 continuous... with 4inches of excursion. Sorry I just don't see it happening. Referring to the "Rainbow" subwoofers now. Also, to FIGJAM who stated that as far as he's concerned, Pioneer's range only deal with high frequencies.... refer to http://www.pioneer.com.au/products/car_ent...ange/index.html

I guess we'd need to know whether this guy wants to spend a lot of money or not, whether he's looking for SPL or dB performance, and whether he's after gut wrenching bass or something to make his hip hop and rap sound like pop candy tunes. Personally I'd prefer low hard hitting bass with plenty of excursion and QUALITY, rather than just raw volume. I haven't even checked out the DD range or anything, but from the information Phil gave up there, it gives me the impression that they can handle much more power than what they're rated at. Anyway, wasn't trying to pick a fight simply help the guy. Honestly though, I'm going after Pioneer for 10million.

If u have never heard of a brand u dont need to get nasty mate. Rainbow is a German made product, very high quality, based around Sound Quality products. They also held the title for having the best set of component speakers for 5 years in a row which was the world standard everyone was trying to reach, these are called RAINBOW REFERENCE and also worth more than a small deposit on a house.

You speak of Earthquake and Pioneer, but u dont realise u are comparing them to Digital Designs MADE IN THE USA, and RAINBOW MADE IN GERMANY.

I would appreciate u learn a few things about car audio before getting nasty and exploding at people and get out of your small minded ways of thinking and open yourself to exploring other possibilities.

We as an Australian market are only exposed to department store brands IE PIONEER, which means just because u know it doesnt make it brilliant. It does what its meant to do but its nothing special.

hey all

my 2c, depending on budget, buy something that is adequate for your needs. you dont need to pull 180db to have a good system. that is just an INSANELY LOUD system lol honestly kicker are good and arent overly priced. on the same par you can get JL gear. in regards to subs you should lean towards Digital Designs (DD). i work in JB and have my favs but honesltly some of the cheaper stuff doesnt sound too bad either. a pair of JVC 6x9's going for $109rrp goes pretty damn good for that price. for speakers i'd go with JL VR's (or ZR's if you dont mind spending a little extra) or the kicker's. 90wrms for component speakers are very loud. as for the amps id go 5channel kicker which isnt too bad coz its like having 2amps in one. 4x60 (i think) and 1x420rms (pretty good for a 5ch amp) otherwise JL 4x75 as Bonsai mentioned for the speakers and a WARHORSE kicker would be good for a few thousand rms lol

honestly build a system that will make you happy and fits the budget!

myself im using a pheonix gold sub wth a coustic amp, crap sony deck (soon to be updated) infinity 6x9s and kicker splits (very loud yet clear :whistling: )
