I'm planning to replace my old clutch (on stockish R33 gtst) with a heavy duty single-plate soon.

Is flywheel replacing/lightening a good idea to do at the same time? I know under massive power a lightened flywheel can be dangerous, but i'll never upgrade more than what stock internals can take on my RB.

With the factory flywheel they basically chop & grind to lighten it, right? What about aftermarket aluminium fly's too? I figured it's a good mod for increasing throttle response.

Opinions?

if you can afford a light weight one then get it while changing your clutch. i would avoid lightening the stocker. some say go lightest while others say dont. from reading some stuff i decied to go with a 6kg flywheel to keep some rotational mass. im very happy with my combo, feels great to drive. has a gara gara sound at super low revs but quickly dissapears.
