Hey,

I've had a slight overheating problem on the track and I don't think any damage was done :D

I had an instructor driving and my fluid boiled (I didn't find out until we got back into the pits), I'm pretty sure I need a new viscous coupling for the fan, does anyone know where to get one in the South Eastern suburbs?

EDIT: R31 couplings fit so I'm getting one pretty cheap and will fit it soon.

Regards,

Gareth

was that yesterday? did you have chris in the car with you?

Yes it was yesterday, yes I had Chris in the car with me, he was driving, he was doing a quick "couple of slow laps", which somehow turned into 4 laps and seemed pretty damn fast to me, I think he liked the car.

Oh, I compared the R33 fan coupling and the R31 it looks identical to me...

Looks like the "r33" compatible coupling which is the same as the R31 coupling that Bursons sold does not quite fit the R33.

When you put it on, which is extremely difficult (there is hardly room to get a finger in there) it hits the fan pulley.

So the only option appears to be to replace the bolts on the pulley and put some spacers to stop the viscous coupling from hitting the pulley.

Oh, the fan currently sits 2-3 cm away from the radiator so it wouldn't hurt for it to get closer :)

Also, the standard Nissan R33 fan does NOT fit the new viscous coupling, we had to buy a holden fan to fit it :D

I've got too many threads open on this issue, refer to does an R31 clutch fan fit an R33 GTR for further discussion.
