Heyas...just Thought I Would Make A Post About Our Skyline And The Mods We Are Having Done...(updated!)

Recommended Posts

Heyas...Just thought I would make a post about our skyline and the upgrades we are planning to do to it over the next 2 weeks...Any input (sudjestions) would be welcomed

Our first upgraded part was our turbo. See our old turbo shit it's self, dealership had left 2 bolts out of the turbo and a few bolts were not done up tightly enough on the air flow metre and well that was goodbye standard turbo hello T3 with T4 internals, blow off valve, screamer pipe, some new piping...

So atm we are running 5.8psi and getting 221.9 rwhp outa it (Our First Dyno Run)...lol but guess that's not to bad for less than standard boost.

So now we have started we are gonna keep going with the flow lol...

Over the next 2 weeks we plan to have a blitz front mount 150 thick, alloy radiator, Link G3 ecu put in, some autometer carbon fibre guages and thought while we were at it we would hav a major service done from front to back as well as a new race series timing belt (15,000ks early but worth it). And off course we will be turning the boost up some more :D

Well I guess...

Air Pods or High Flow Panel Filter if you are keeping the air box

Exhaust system

Boost controller

Apexi Power FCon Pro-V / ECU

Clutch upgrade

Brakes

Suspension

Fuel Injectors / Injector Railing / Fuel Pump

Belts / Spark Plugs

Thats the main things...

You could go crazy and put a Supercharger in for the low end until the turbo boost kicks in.

NOS...

(YEAH! SCREAMER PIPE!!! I love the roar!!!) Make it a twin screamer pipe! :)

Lol Adrian works with brakes and clutch's for a living, so clutch (Exedy brass button) has been done and brakes were fully overhauled when the car was up on the hoist at DPS the last time...Belts and spark plugs are getting done in the major back to front service...We have a k&n panel fliter, we will be replacing the air flow meter with a map sensor.

So many things to do :woot:

LOL! Well you have seem to cover everything...

Guess you can only do so much to a car...

Is it going to be a track / drag car?

We hope to get it to the stage where we won't be able to use it as a every day car...But we don't have any chasis damage at all, the car's pretty straight and been well looked after so we don't really want to race it...

But dyno comps and stuff would be cool...But you never know, Adrian would like to take it to Willowbank once a year at least for power cruise and out for club runs once we join the club :ninja:

Have you gota money tree growing in a backyard?

Yeah Dyno Days are always fun. Run it on a dyno and see all the car fans go "OOOHHH!!!" 600+Kw. LOL!

And tear it past an exotic car down the freeway is always fun.

Well all the best and hope to see some pics when all done!

  • 1 month later...

Well guess it was about time I updated this haha...Well this is what we have ended up getting done so far...

New turbo - T3 with T4 internals.

Link G3 ecu with the display.

Full major service, all oils, alsd diff oil service, gear box oil, everything.

Upgraded to a gates timing belt.

Adjustable fuel pressure reg.

External waist gate.

150" thick front mount blitz intercooler with custom 3" black pipe work all the way through to the cat.

Upgraded our brake discs, and done our brakes.

Blow off valve.

Clear cam cover, and a adjustable cam gear.

Huge monkey bar.

New rear and front tyres.

Alloy raidator.

Low temp thermostat (engine runs at 68 degrees just running around)

We have taken it from doing 221.9 HP to 324.8 HP (Click to see the latest dyno sheet). And now we have to look at getting another car to use as a daily so we can start doing some engine stuff but oh well, we brought the car with every intentioon of modifiy it :P

Have not yet started on it's appearance and don't really plan to till it gets to the stage where no1 really needs to be in the engine bay or underneath it. But we do plan on keeping it looking stealth. We will end up respraying it black and I really like these black rims with a silver lip on em that we will eventually get if we don't find something else we like before hand :domokun: Undecided on what we will do to the interrior yet. Haven't got that far haha...

Anyways heres some links to new pics.

Some pics of our car at the Sauqld BBQ (Click here)

April Engine Bay (Click here)

Dyno Vids (Click here)

Anyways that's about it for now. We are currently enjoying it and extremely happy with our the work our mechanic has done and are now planning on doing the injectors and fuel system in the next month or 2 as our injectors are pretty much pushed to their limit now :stupid:

I shall update it again when more is done :D

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
