Hi guys,

I have my eyes set on a 1990 R32 GTR with 104K kms which has been flagged as potentially having fried piston ring. The car seems to have some modifications to it, eg dump volve.

I would like to bring the cars to origional condition and was just wondering how much it would cost to have the engine reconditioned/rebuilt to stock specs. Has anyone undergone such a project?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Joe

theyre are many ppl who have rebuilt rb26's..... @ my last work place.. we did 2 stock builds. as for mine, im doing a forged rebuild because im chasing alot more power then what the stockies can handle

Its expensive no matter what kind of build ur after.. and the 4k+ estimate is a pretty good estimate

The last R33 rebuild i did ended up costing 5.2k :whistling:

good question, the dealer's (power street motors in melb) asking $14K for it.

As its a dealer, I can get a 3rd party warrenty on it...you think that the it would cover some parts if the engine dies? I know that the premium 3yr one can cover upto something like $2500. Its not everyting up at least it makes up for some of it.

    • Plan on the day will be to park trackside. Depending on space availability we will try put a small shade tent and a few of the cars on top of the hill inside turn 3, this is an easy to get to parking area with views of Turn 2, Turn 3, Turn 4 and Turn 5 and limited other pieces of the view around the track. IMPORTANT NOTE! One consideration from previous years is from memory the trackside parking sells out before the admission tickets, for that reason I encourage anyone planning on coming to buy tickets for parking now via the official website; https://www.worldtimeattack.com/ The type of parking you are looking for is 2 Day Park & View (Access Around Venue) Vehicle Pass Only Please note this does not include admission to the event itself, remember to grab that also, and kids under 12 get in for free!
