So you mean you've reved out to 9000rpm and never hit the limiter?

I never knew GT-Ts can rev to that high, Man.. yous must be quick!

i never thought so myself considering the stock dash starts redline at 7000rpm untill i realised my car just freely revs almost off the clock ands sounds like it could go further, ive raced other cars and by the time theyve hit 5th gear im still in 3rd reving it out and still taking the lead so it is an advantage

FWIW

Revving an rb25 to 9krpm is not a good idea... It will screw your head (bend a valve due to valve float) and wear out your rings... The engine just isn't designed to rev that hard.

Also, if you still have the stock turbo the car would be faster if you actually changed gear at the redline because the power curve will peak at about 6000rpm and well and truly tapering off at 7krpm let alone 9krpm.

thats why ive only occasionally briought it out to 9000rpm i havnt hit it in a while coz i didnt want to risk blowing anything but its good to know how high the rev range hits, i did have plans to put bigger turbo upgrade n work the motor a bit, i guess the next owner can deside weather to do that or not

just found out previos owner had apexi rsm on the car and brought it out to 11 100rpm the cars nuts thanks to the vvti the car loves high revs neva had any problems car runs beutiful always maintenaced even at high revs sounds healthy so i duno

I think what aphid means is that its stock INTERNALLY and has only bolt on mods, as you have listed:

Performance:

- Turbo back exhaust with blitz nur cannon

- HKS front mount intercooler

- Aftermarket Top Secret ECU

- Boost controller

- Automatic turbo timer

- Pod filter

- HKS oil cooler

- Heavy duty racing clutch

- Lightweight flywheel

- HKS hyper-d Coilover suspension

- Aluminium air deflector

None of these mods will help the car to rev to 9-11,000 RPM safely.... So if you do actually rev it that hard, which is doubtful, it could/would be causing serious damage to the engine. And on a stock turbo it would be making F All power reving that high as its wayy out of its effiency zone.

I dont mean to be negative, because its a very very nice looking car, you just dont need to say things like that to try and impress guys on here...they know these cars too well...

Anyway, Good Luck with your sale :P

thnx mate i just thought it was pretty unique for the car to be hitting such high revs and wanted people to know what it was capable of and still running healthy if the car doesnt sell im just gonna keep it so i can still be in with the skyline family :)

yeah sorry if i sounded harsh, but mate, limit that beast back to 7000rpm.. it's a beautiful looking car, but 9000rpm is really really stupid, anyhow.. back on topic. free bump :)

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
