ns nickname: nfi Car Make and Model: SX Developments S15 Circuit Name: Wakefield Lap time: 1:01.4 Timing method: performance box Modifications Engine: Built 2.3 Power: 400rwkw Suspension: Bilstein Tyres: Hankook Brakes: Brembo Other: Car weight: Not light enough Video with data overlay.
  2. S15 so not directly comparable. Car: s15 200sx Weight: 1150kg without driver Power: 265rwkw Aero: wing and front splitter Wakefield: 199km/h (via data logger but that is with my foot still completely flat to the floor at the kink) Eastern Creek: 228km/h 1.04.0 at Wakefield 1.39.6 at Eastern creek Have a new engine in the car now that is yet to go to the track.
  3. Thanks Marko. Its definitely 'interesting' to drive even with the old 265. Still haven't got to drive it since the new engine, its just a dyno figure at this stage!! Just have some niggly issues I want to get right before I get it properly tuned. Don't to clog up Pauls thread. Build thread is here if you're interested - http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=520202 I agree. I thought it would be quite a bit laggier. I was a bit worried it might not really come on until 4200-4500. The precisions aren't really good quality though... I don't have much faith in it lasting... The casting and bearing and general fit and finish is a bit average but we'll see how long it lasts. I'm not expecting much though to be honest. The wheels are just so much better than garrett though its just too hard to ignore.
  4. Finally got through your thread Paul!! There is so much sh*t talk in here.... I think my SR is the engine that finally converted Paul to going to the dark side with a single. Here is an overlay of my car (black dots) over Paul's graph. I'm running same boost in the midrange but mine doesn't fall over up top. Both are on Yavuz's dyno. Somehow I don't think its the engine alone (it is a built and stroked VE sr) and the turbo has a lot to do with it (6262). Pretty interesting it made more power down low and also more up top with some losses in the midrange. Yavuz wanted to keep going, adding more boost but I reckon that is more than enough. Also, FWIW and those interested in buying a manifold, I had a extremely ordinary service and product experience with Alpha Omega....
  5. I think you'll find they're 2871R's or -10's from my conversations with John from Uas who is building on it. Could have misunderstood though.

I know! It was the first session of the day and unfortunately I only got two timed sessions before I broke the master cylinder. I was having issues with snap oversteer on corner exit. We later improved with swaybar and damping but a better time wasn't to be with mechanical issues setting in.
  7. Went to Wakefield on Sunday at the NSCC day. Only got two timed sessions in before I wrecked the brakes in two consecutive passenger sessions Still quite a few mistakes, car is a bit overdriven in a few corners but figured I post anyway.

SAU Nickname: nfi Car Make and Model: 2001 Nissan 200sx Circuit Name: Wakefield Park Lap time: 1:04.07 Modifications Engine: Turbo, ex gate, injectors, cams, PFC Power: 248.8rwkw (just touch up tuned on Saturday with R comps on) Suspension: Bilstein coilovers, whiteline swaybars, cusco upper arms in the rear and front castor rods Tyres: Hankook Z221's Brakes: R33 GTR Brembo's Body weight: 1150kg Natsoft: http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results.cgi?25/03/2012.WAKE.S2.Y In car footage:
  9. 10.5 is actually the correct size for 295. Hankook tyres actually recommend 10.5 for 295.
  10. Unfortunately I can't help you there. See if can borrow off the other half
  11. Sorry not really interested in a swap. Already have too many wheels Need wider and lower offset ones.
  12. Have a set of Buddy Club QF's for sale in 18x10 + 12 all round. They are in very good condition and as many of you know, a fully forged rim that is the lightest on the market (no volk rim is even lighter as far as i'm aware). Asking 2k. Contact via PM.
  13. Nice work Paul thats an awesome result. I'd be stoked. Really interesting to see the crank trigger logging. I'm still not admitting to being happy with twins but thats a damn good result. Now more driving less excuses
  14. Finally got video's done with data logging overlay. Unfortunately in the 1.39.6 the video camera died on the way out of the pits.... Isn't it always the way... Here is a 1.40.2 Here is me chasing Andrew (JET200) on his very first session in his car. Look at the way he drives away from me down the straight. Pretty crazy what 100rwkw (I had 265rwkw) more looks like down the straight! I want more powwwahh
  15. Thanks Richard. Be interesting to see what happens next year. If you know Ian well might be worth seeing if you can help steer it in the right direction. Thanks Chris. Actually that was a different one I sold because it was going to cost too much to have it he way I wanted it... So I bought a skyline for a while and then went back over to the dark side and bought a slightly more modded s15 think i'd save money and then ended up changing most of the parts on it!
  16. I really don't think its as bad as everyone's making out.... I competed this year in the White S15 200sx with "SX Developments" down the side of it. This is a long way from a big budget car... Its a stock sr20 motor with a set of cams and a bolt on 3071R running on pump fuel making 265rwkw. Sure the widebody, paint, cage, carbon etc wasn't cheap but the car isn't a massive dollar car. I bought a set of medium A050's 2 months ago to practice on and only got one days on them as a driving solutions day got cancelled and the car wasn't ready for the other so like most people we weren't as prepared/practiced as we would have liked but we at least got a supersprint in the week before. For the event I had a second hand set of Hankooks, the medium A050's and 1 brand new set of Hankooks and that was it. We used the A050's for the first two sessions of practice and then went onto the second hand Hankooks which we used until the last session on Friday where we put the new set on and did the PB of 1.39.6. So it proved you don't need huge bucks to compete and at least be competetive. The freedom of no rules makes the innovation and preparation more fun not being constrained. Now obviously we were never going to win and dollars do play a huge part but I reckon the innovation plays as big a part as the dollars invested. That was proven with a couple of pro class cars that didn't meet the expectations/hype. The event has to differentiate itself from anything else otherwise it won't survive. The reality of Superlap is its a commercial venture so it needs to make money to survive. The best way of drawing crowds (therefore the investment, attention, hype & interest) is to have bigger, better and faster cars and currently there is very few motorsport events you can compete in that have limited rules. The only caveat on put on that is that the key to the success of this event is the 'relevance' of the cars to those watching it... ie. that car doing 1.35's is like mine. My concern is that if the event becomes tube/space frame, fibreglass/carbon body skin (ie. carbon body r35) etc then the event will lose its relevance to the audience and my personal opinion is, thats when it may begin to lose its appeal as they may as well be sports sedans. Have you seen the crowds a sports sedan event draw?? Nothing like world time attack..... which comes back to the commercial aspect for its long term survival.....
  17. I've driven on the track with cars with KU36's, RS-R's and Z1 Star spec's. IMHO the RS-R's are the best followed very closely by the star spec's. I found the RS-R's to be the best all rounder as they work well from stone cold, have R comp like qualities in the way they lose grip when the slip angle increases but they do over heat more quickly than the KU36's (odd one of you above had the exact opposite experience). The RS-R's have a noticably softer sidewall than R comps which makes the barely tramline at all even on my car - 285 RS-R's all round and the car only weighs 1140kg (will be at WTAC in open class ) The star specs I went passenger in an EVO being driven in a very spirited manner on a twisty road and was unimpressed. I did, however, drive them on the track on a modded turbo mx5 and was very very impressed. They gave way in a predictable manner but still felt more like street tyres than R comps when compared to the RS-R's but not by much. If you bought the RS-R's or the star specs and had driven both of them in a relatively short period of time you'd find it hard to tell the difference. My experiences with the KU36's are different to the above. I had a set of them and i've driven a number of cars that had them on the track. I found them useless when cold, great when hot, not nearly as progressive on the limit as the RS-R's but the absolute grip of these tyres when they were hot was remarkable. When they got older they became very difficult to get hot particularly on the road at times making them a little on the dangerous side. As a result I wouldn't buy another set.
  18. EBC's really are very bad. I would highly recommend anyone that likes them trying a different pad. Its amazing how much better pretty much any brand name pad is than the EBC's. Endless and project MU aren't expensive for no reason. On a budget the Hawk's are very good too even if they do lack a bit of modulation. The only pads EBC are better than is Lucas and the AR pads that some people seem to like. Note: This is assuming you want the best braking and are pushing really hard. If you don't care about ultimate lap times and are going for fun it doesn't matter.
  19. Sorry Krishy i accidently just pressed the negative icon on your post trying to press add reply while it was loading. Apologies.
  20. Only 5 weeks away from track season... Somebody should pick up a bargain.
