Burgies
Hi all, new to these forums, new to Victoria and new to skylines. Im saving for a GTST R33. Im on P plates and know that you arent meant to drive them, but im on QLD plates and i could legally drive it there. My permanent address is still in Qld as im just studying here. Do you think if i were pulled over for driving it they would let me off after seeing my license? Also anyone from the geelong area? When I get my car I wanna find someone to go cruising with. -Burgies Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/214311-opinions/ Share on other sites
stolen_s15
What you can do depends on where your license is from. So if you can drive it in QLD you can drive it down here, as long as you have a VALID QLD license. Burgies
Awesome, crack in the system wins. So i technically dont even have to have P plates up? means less attention for my car. Again anyone out west of melbourne? Sucks cause last year i lived in burwood for 6 months, and lived around all the places you all keep mentioning you cruise around. -Burgies Edit - When I get the car (and money) I intend on joining Sau Edited April 10, 2008 by Burgies Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/214311-opinions/#findComment-3784841 Share on other sites
ClutchBurndout-:(
Pre-welcome to SAU, not wearing P plates takes alot of attention away from the coppers, but is a harsher penalty if caught Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/214311-opinions/#findComment-3784877 Share on other sites
Al
If you are required to display P's in QLD you'll be required to display them here. If they find out that you're studying here (ie: staying longer that 3-6 months) then you will be forced to obtain a VIC license. You'll be a lot better off buying a car in QLD and having QLD rego, VIC cops would be less inclined to hassle you, due to the paperwork involved. NickR33
if you keep your car stickerless, put a decent quite exhaust with actual mufflers not cannons, keep it at a sensible ride height, no stupid BOV and you don't drive like an idiot or have 15 dudes in your car then you should be fine... even if they do pull you up if they see you have the right attitude and are trying to do the right thing they will probably let it slide if your car stands out and gets lots of attention don't complain when its the wrong kind of attention... and can we stop having these threads now? Burgies
Thanks for the warm reception guys. Sorry to bring up another thread, dont mean to be a whiny P plater. Im not required to wear them in Qld as I had my license before the date of new laws. Unlike Vic there was no restrictions on P platers before then. Thinking about getting it registered in Qld. Thanks again, this is an awesome site with so much info. WIll prob be on here a fair bit as getting a new (and decent) ride is about all I think about in my spare time. (OO)SKYLINE(OO)
If they pull ya up, just say your from QLD and the car is from VIC. Just studying and I will be going back to QLD in a few months or make some BS up. Just drive it nicely, no hooning. BTW Welcome!
