NO!!

they are good for popping airbags. think there are 8 or so on these so I would only use a meter in them. if it is a LED one then that is a different story. still prefer a meter.

jon,

I'm bored so I'm tearing yours to bits.

Dammit! I'll leave it to you then. I can't wait to hear the result....

Cool...hope you find more cool stuff! The G35 guys keep on talking about their remotes ability to wind down all four windows by just pressing the unlock button 3 times and holding it...I tried but no dice...

partial PDF from the 05/06 service manual.

that is relevant to what we are talking about.

its missing a relay so the whole concept of adding a switch is a myth. there is more to it that that. I would say: fuses, relays, switches, seats.

I'll know more over the next day or so.

jon,

you may want to stay away for a few days whilst I find this missing relay :)

Ok my 04 coupe is a 70th and has the seat warmers,

you can push the switches up or down, what is the difference ?

up is for high heat, down is for low

as in the thicker and longer bar for up, and thinner and shorter bar down low

can you do us a favour and open you console and take a pic of where the wires go form the switches?

its as simple as

- pull down the plastic around the bottom of the shifter

- pop out the pin

- lift off the gearknob

- lift up the armrest

- then lift the console from where the switches are

this takes about 2-3mins and requires no screwdriver or anything

i would just like to see on a coupe where the wires go after they coem out of the switches

thanks mate!

Warren

warren,

easier way.

remove covers on seat bolts. remove 4x14mm bolts position seat so it lays back out of the way:(DO NOT DISCONNECT IT!)

look at 4 pin white plug in middle of seat. it has 2 wires: a heavy red and black in it for the seat power ONLY. IF it has 4 wires going THROUGH the plug into the seat itself then you have heated seats.

based on the 05/06 sedan passenger seat you will have a LT GRN/BLK & GRY/BLU in that plug from teh car side - those will match with the ones in the centre console

the car (in the case of the 05/06 sedan I have here) is set up for them its a case of swapping seats, adding switches and finding the relay and fuse for it.

jon,

yours is wired for it but thats it.

just to update this..

i have found a company that sells carbon fibre heating elements

http://www.heatedseatkits.com/index.html

costs $180 for the pair for front seats

they are OEM items in many cars in the USA..

and i've also recieved my heated seat switches from the G35 :)

so once my exams are over, my plan is to find out if i have the heating elements or not, and if i don't i'm going to look at getting a set of heating elements and wiring them up using the stock switches to control it

it should suit those cold summer mornings just fine!

haven't checked as yet..

i'm studying for exams which are on friday which means i can procrastinate all day on the computer and be guilt free (as my notes are open in an adjacent window), but if i leave the vicinity of my computer/books (ie to go to the car) i get massive guilt about not studying..

i know i'm weird

i will check for the wiring before i think about getting any elements though

Just noticed my car has rectangular marks where the heated seats buttons should be. Seems to be a lump there on both sides of the console. Does anyone else have this? Looks kinda dodgey.

yes I have these too.

Unless the vehicle is equiped with heated seats there will be covers in place of the switches. So 99% of 35's will have these covers.

on some of them the covers are knockouts. in the case of warrens car they are visible but not punched.

warren,

re: question - yes.

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
