def install a guage before you start stuffin round setting it. sure you have it the right way round n in the line 2 the wastegate? ball isnt jammed in the bottom or something silly like that?

i cant believe you would screw it in all the way to see what would happen.

damn man! that would seriously do some bad ass damage to your engine! those turbotechs are savage when bringing theboost on and they work.

it was probly running 25psi or something silly like that.

take to get it dyno'd and check the afr's as well because you could stuff your engine otherwise.

also buy some bcpr7es spark plugs and gap them to .8 before you go there.

No worries, thanks for the help, I'll just keep it in for now and not boost it. Definately will buy a gauge tomorrow.

i can't beleive you installed and tested the boost controller without a boost guage! you could seriously do some damage to your engine.

your car is likely to splutter due to ecu fuel cut because of free boost or very high boost. remove the controller and ensure you install a boost guage before you start fine tuning the boost controller, otherwise you may damage your engine.

also, i wouldn't advise running more than 12PSI without a dyno tune because your car may lean out.

cheers,

dave.

Yeah I definately stuffed up, I know that the more you screw it in the more boost you will get.

I took it out now, it's running stock boost.

I've run into another problem though, as soon as the car hits 5000 revs and over it sorta dies in the ass. I think it may be leaking boost or something. It's been doing this since I installed my front mount. Has it got anything to do with my HKS SSQ BOV?

    • Bit difficult to follow. Have a look below and see what the standard R32 layout was like. Note there was a restrictor in place immediately before "turbocharged pressure control solenoid" that, if removed, magically got you 1 bar boost.
    • I might be way off the mark here.. there must be a T junction under the manifold. That takes manifold pressure through a check valve prior to the T, one side splits out to this bleed off orifice, the other straight to the wastegate actuators.
    • Carrying out some engine due diligence before my first drive in a 260RS that has been in storage for 10+ years, and found two lines that are susposed to be plumbed into the boost control solenoid. One of the lines (the wastegate boost supply line) to actuate the gates, had a bolt in one end blocking it. The other line (main boost signal line) from the very rear of the intake manifold (RB26DETT) and runs up to the boost controller had this pill in the end of it as seen in photos. Other than the obvious (T28 Ceramic turbos might well be cooked)  Can anyone shed any light on if there is any validity at all with this mod, bleeding a constant fixed rate of manifold boost pressure off through this 3mm hole?  Is it deliberate?  Was this a 90s Jap mod done to RB26's? Or has someone just fitted this without any idea of what happens to ceramic T28s if they are not gate controlled?
    • This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.
