Have had an idea for lunch stop let me know what yas reckon.

I am currently cookin @ whalers in encounter bay.

Not givin the joint a plug or anything but there is an awesome deck area that looks out over encounter bay and an adequitly sized car park that would look rather spesh chockas w stags!!

And we do a reasonably priced big rotisserie spread(among other things) on a sunday!!

I must say I personally would prefer the food @ the flying fish( my missus used to work there and is real nice) but is definately a little pricier$$. Carparks and view are very comparable so either would be great spots.

Just thought id throw in the idea!

My 2 cents!

Sounds like a valid offer. I'll see how that would slip into our route. So long as we get to 'parade' past the local spots in Victor, where we eat/drink shouldn't matter too much.

:)

im not fussed where we eat.

but can i get a rough idea what route u have came up with ruby.

looks like we got alot of stags cumn :D im hangn for it now, but not hangn to see my fuel bill when i fill up tomoz :)

There will be an opportunity for fuel stops at 3 stages along the route. I've broken the drive up into 3 stages with fuel stops at the end of each stage. Basically, about 50 minute drive from meet point for first stage, about 1 hour drive for stage 2, and the 1.5 hour run home for the final stage 3. It'll be about a 230km round trip.

However, the drive back (stage 3) has 2 options depending on people's mood for the day. I'll give everyone a vote at the meet point on the day.

BTW does anyone have, or can get their hands on, 2 walkie talkies with a decent range? I'd like the lead stag and tail stag to have them so we can manage keeping the group together ... but shouldn't be hard anyway given the route I've chosen. My idea of a cruise is we all drive about 10kph under the speed limit. Give fallen drivers the chance to catch up, and also take our time cruising past places to give spectators a better look at the mighty Stagea. As a bonus, theres also little risk of speeding fines :)

If we arrivin from western front can take ring road around back of township and come at it from top of kleinigs hill, down into victor and do the main street cruise etc, then head back out to encounter bay via esplanade all the way down to whalers. Is many spots to stop for photos etc, kent reserve, bluff jetty road, petrel cove carpark would be awesome also!!

I just bought new walkies w apparant 7km range, was planning on using them anyway, am a big fan of walkies on cruzes, I would encourage anyone who has one to bring with!

We need the numbers! I have a silver Stagea that may not have a driver, but it has no insurance.

Gotta see if my mate can come, and I'll take the silver Stag and my mate can drive my black Stag.

See what you can do to get your car back dude :D

Can we decide on lunch venue.

should I make a tentative booking?

Would be nice to let them know if we gonna be there.

Especially if we go to flyin fish, they dont have that many seats so need to organise if we gonna rock up w 20 odd people!

Yeah make the booking for 20 odd people at the Whalers Inn. We should def have the numbers for 20 odd people. We should be getting there about 12.30pm.

whats wrong with pie n sauce on the run?

:P

damn petrol is going to be costly this weekend.................................

But it'll be a great cruise! :D

Trying to keep this as a bit more of a special event, rather than a regular cruise to Villis!

Nothing is stopping anyone from just grabbing a pie and eating at the cars, rather than eating in at the Whalers Inn. But eating at a table is quite civilised, to show we are not as barbaric as the common Skyline driver

I Realise shit is not cheap these days, as rubyrs4 said there is no reason why those who want cant grab a pie from the bakery and hang out front, am sure we will be lappin up the deck out the front if weather is nice, can just chill w a drink or whateva!

Will be able to hook up a few bowls of wedges and some garlic breads for the table :D

Will book tomoz.

droped the stag off to MV automatics early this morning :P hopfuly those dudes can hook me up pretty quick :D they had sum falcons and a 4wd there so they were pretty stoked to c a stag rock up... or 2 (thanx to kidafa droping me home) so they should have me fresh for the wkend all going well... n got sum new tyers orderd 2.. so should b there:) btw ive sent a fair few emails around to other stag drivers letting them no that theres a cruise on so might get a few random stags out :) (havnt big mouthed the location tho )

    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
