Such a shame for two young men to die.

But how could they be doing those speeds in that place at that time? Particularly with the fact a relative died there in similar circumstances.

Such a shame, such stupidity and such an unnecessary loss of life.

RIP.

i hate hearing about stuff like this i know what its like to be in a bad car accident when a cement truck ran a stop sign and we hit him at about 100km/h i was with my family but luckily we all survived. and being in one changes alot of things because you know exactly how easy they happen and how bad it is to actually be in one.

the sad thing is this isnt the last time we will hear about something like this.

R.I.P

doing 100kmp/h + in lygon street in the afternoon where your older brother died 6 years prior doing the same thing in a wrx?

WTF!

today tonight will have a field day with this one

my condolences to the family and friends of the deceased...

whens it coming on, is today tonight coming on today is it because i want to watch it, i went to the house yesterday it was corrupted, pretty sad thing that happened and it he was only what 18-19yo, what life did he have but just growing up with the family as a young kid,

thanks for the support guys, its really good to ahve yous here,

cheers

ey GTRBOS....my condolences go out to you, the deceased and their families.

Comments aside, we should all take this as a lesson that that behaviour should stick to the track and only the track. We've all done something stupid with our cars no doubt and its very unfortunate that two lives were lost in this particular case.

Statistics say that 1 in 8 young male drivers die in road accidents....thats pretty much 1 person in your group of friends.

So sad, so f*kd. Lets all play it safe out there aiiite

Hope you are holding up well mate, keep ya head up :D

WTF? 1 in 8 young male drivers die on the road???? That sounds way too high. So out of the 42,000 SAU people, let's say 40,000 of them are guys.

That means 5,000 of us, on this forum, will die in car accidents, while we're "young" (I guess < 35 y.o.).

Actually, make that more than 5,000, as it's fair to say Skyline drivers have a higher probability of being in lethal accidents compared to the young male driver general population just by virtue of our cars being quick.

ey grant watch what your f**ken mouth, these guys here were ali and moeys best mates and they were killing themself at the funeral, mate wdf is wrong with wearing glasses, they have cried that much that around there eyes are f**ken black, nearly everyone there was wearing glasses and where the f*k are they posing? i dont see them posing, the one in the middle is the drivers younger brother, the one on the left rite beside him is the survivor in the crash as you can see his on crutches and couple of them in they are his cousins and the rest are couple of mates of his, and everyone said goodbye and its non of your f*king business so keep your ugly words to yourself and some respect buddy, may ali and moe RIP, it was very sad yesterday but i guess it was just meant to happen

was at fawkner cemetery doing work when they started coming in for the funeral

when you work as a monumnetal mason (stonemason) you know how bad and how easily it is that someone can lose there life in an accident

    • I drive the Tiguan much harder than the Skyline in all conditions, because it just grips and hooks, unlike the R33 shit box
    • The rain is the best time to push to the edge of the grip limit. Water lubrication reduces the consumption of rubber without reducing the fun. I take pleasure in driving around the outside of numpties in Audis, WRXs, BRZs, etc, because they get all worried in the wet. They warm up faster than the engine oil does.
    • When they're dead cold, and in the wet, they're not very fun. RE003 are alright, they do harden very quickly and turn into literally $50 Pace tyres.
    • Yeah, I thought that Reedy's video was quite good because he compared old and new (as in, well used and quite new) AD09s, with what is generally considered to be the fast Yokohama in this category (ie, sporty road/track tyres) and a tyre that people might be able to use to extend the comparo out into the space of more expensive European tyres, being the Cup 2. No-one would ever agree that the Cup 2 is a poor tyre - many would suggest that it is close to the very top of the category. And, for them all to come out so close to each other, and for the cheaper tyre in the test to do so well against the others, in some cases being even faster, shows that (good, non-linglong) tyres are reaching a plateau in terms of how good they can get, and they're all sitting on that same plateau. Anyway, on the AD08R, AD09, RS4 that I've had on the car in recent years, I've never had a problem in the cold and wet. SA gets down to 0-10°C in winter. Not so often, but it was only 4°C when I got in the car this morning. Once the tyres are warm (ie, after about 2km), you can start to lay into them. I've never aquaplaned or suffered serious off-corner understeer or anything like that in the wet, that I would not have expected to happen with a more normal tyre. I had some RE003s, and they were shit in the dry, shit in the wet, shit everywhere. I would rate the RS4 and AD0x as being more trustworthy in the wet, once the rubber is warm. Bridgestone should be ashamed of the RE003.
    • This is why I gave the disclaimer about how I drive in the wet which I feel is pretty important. I have heard people think RS4's are horrible in the rain, but I have this feeling they must be driving (or attempting to drive) anywhere close to the grip limit. I legitimately drive at the speed limit/below speed the limit 100% of the time in the rain. More than happy to just commute along at 50kmh behind a train of cars in 5th gear etc. I do agree with you with regards to the temp and the 'quality' of the tyre Dose. Most UHP tyres aren't even up to temperature on the road anyway, even when going mad initial D canyon carving. It would be interesting to see a not-up-to-temp UHP tyre compared against a mere... normal...HP tyre at these temperatures. I don't think you're (or me in this case) is actually picking up grip with an RS4/AD09 on the road relative to something like a RE003 because the RS4/AD09 is not up to temp and the RE003 is closer to it's optimal operating window.
