hello officer marley.

what we are trying to say here, is that there is a difference between hoons, and enthusiasts, we here, at Skylines Australia are Enthusiasts.

the organisers of our cruises, such as kellie, DO NOT tolerate hoon driving, and have no worrys in forwording the information on these said drivers to sapol.

we ask that you work with us, to make our streets safer.as we are not in the majority you speak of.

thank you.

craig.

Thanks Craig, got your PM.

This has indeed become an intersting thread.

I'd like to welcome any Police Officer's comments and how we could work together to possibly change your opinion in generalizing about import drivers.

But please keep in mind (and this doesn't necessarily apply to you) that some of us could also be ex job and will not tolerate anyone trying to impersonate one, with details subsequently passed on to the FEDS.

I think we have seen the last of Mr sapol. I doubt SAPOL would let such a username be used, as the username appears to reflect the overall view of the SA Police. If you pm me your badge number, im quite happy to check all this out with a very high up close family friend of mine. If it is all legit, then as said before, we are all happy to discuss this particular scene with you.

categorising people is always easier than treating people like individuals, i look like a wog and wear glasses therefore ill be looking over my stamp collection tonight while serving you fish and chips and sled i think your a bikie therefore you must be taking out a gun to go shoot up a club somewhere

there are plenty police do that is wrong, such as the 1 that stalked my girlfriend home 2 nights ago by driving over a medium strip to begin the chase while she continued to do the speed limit (she had p plates on, get her) but clearly it would be inappropriate on my behalf if I blamed you for this.

if you havnt seen much on this webpage there is a lot of abuse generally towards hoon drivers. Driving an expensive car if your anything like me you often dislike anyone that risks damaging it while your trying to get from a to b, im to the point i won't even drive my car unless I am 100% havnt had a drink for a full 24hrs because you never know what idiot will pull out infront of you.

do you know the difference between cars well enough to be able to tell them apart or was it a matter of them being too far away to see? does an import include a commodore or falcon with a big wing on it and clear tail lights? did the toyota camry involved in the high speed chase into the city yesterday count as an import?

seems to me that people get in less trouble for stealing cars and conducting hoon activity than import drivers do for just trying to make it from a to b and don't get me started on people who take drugs while driving.

and that concludes my 2cents, everyone is entitled to an opinion and this is mine :D

and adding to the above i doubt a police officer would bother to put the effort in of filling out VE patrol car

Other thing to query is whether or not this is an actual SAPOL approved action or an unsanctioned vigilante operation.

Yeah, well, I don't think he was actually a cop. Impersonator. :(

Well, if we're done generalising the generalised community and the general population, then we can generally get on with talking cars in general.

:D

we can get back to talking bout the general

You are very close to nailing it Ben.

There are 3 possible scenarios here:

1. You're not a cop and therefore taking a big risk by impersonating one....Federal Police take that business very seriously.

2. You are a cop and are using the handle SAPOL without any written authorization because by using that name you are inadvertently representing this states police force, like it or not.

3. You do have written authorization and therefore this is part of a task force, only problem is, you are not very smart and quick to generalize and post on Kell's thread rather than initiate one yourself and introducing yourself in the correct manner which brings me back to point "1".

Hello

You see the fact of the matter is that most import drivers are out there and more times then not commiting an offence.

We are employed by the government to protect all of the Responsible drivers out there. Today on my shift i spotted four import cars taking off from the traffic lights erraticaly, now that doesnt show much for the rest of the import driving community.

Another example is the Creator of Nissan Silvia . com was caught doing underground illegal drifting in queensland recently and he is supposed to be highly responsible due to his image.

I will be attending the cruise on this sunday to make sure there are no Hoons out.

Thankyou

If this is a real police officer, im glad you felt compelled to post in this thread, but the cruises held by the original poster arent for illegal drag races / drifting or whatever. They are purely meet and greet type events followed by light driving. Go fight some real crime instead of terrorising import cars because of the stigma that some drivers give them.

EDIT - I might also point out that if police come to any meet spots held on private property, like bunnings carpark or a designated carpark, they do not have any right to defect. Private property is sacrosanct, you can do whatever the hell you like there, provided it doesnt upset the owner. (Stupid things like burnouts notwithstanding)

Its adelaide mate, there is no real crime. Import defecting is all they have.

I found that 'sapol' guy funny. PM me your name and badge number mate, my sister in law is a 'computer jocky' at a police station, she'll be more then happy to make sure you really are a police officer.

tried to fire up the car after getting ready......dead battery.

happens all too often to me cause i hardly drive it :D

Take the battery out if your not driving it. I do that and the battery is fine 5 weeks on lol sucks taking it out and putting it back in all the time tho, but im not driving mine for another 4 months so...

****300 posts YAY*** :P

ive told this dazza dude to meet me at a diff location for the stagea cruise this sunday (ill b in dads car to look semi un-sus :P) so only then will we know if hes a champ with a stag.. or a piglet with a commy :D keep ya guys posted

get one of these no need to ever suffer a flat battery again i bought one for day but he forgot to turn it on  so still didn't help him lol

I have one of those things. Pretty good. Bought it, went out to the car and had to use it haha. Now it just collects dust.

yeah its on charge already, my dad is very specific that it must remain on charge untill its fully charged. don't know why that is but it beats having a flat battery upon arrival at the vili's

i think from now on i might test early that the cars gonna start cause its pretty annoying when i grab all my sh*t out and commence unlocking all the crazy stuff i do to ensure my cars safe at night and then try n start with a da da da da reow aww reow aww (excellent sound effects) that last bit is the alarm going off because the car thinks the battery is being disconneted.

It would do the forum good if we did have a cop post answers to all the questions about defects and other matters regarding the law.

    • I thought that might be the case, thats what I'll start saving for. Thanks for the info
    • Ps i found the below forum and it seems to be the same scenario Im dealing with. Going to check my ECU coolant temp wire tomorrow    From NICOclub forum: s1 RB25det flooding at start up Thu Apr 11, 2013 7:23 am I am completely lost on this. Car ran perfectly fine when I parked it at the end of the year. I took the engine out and painted the engine bay, and put a fuel cell with an inline walbro 255 instead of the in tank unit I had last year. After reinstalling everything, the engine floods when the fuel pump primes. if i pull the fuel pump fuse it'll start, and as soon as I put the fuse back in it starts running ridiculously rich. I checked the tps voltage, and its fine. Cleaned the maf as it had some dust from sitting on a shelf all winter, fuel pressure is correct while running, but wont fire until there is less than 5psi in the lines. The fuel lines are run correctly. I have found a few threads with the same problem but no actual explanation of what fixed it, the threads just ended. Any help would be appreciated. Rb25det s1 walbro255 fuel pump nismo fpr holset hx35 turbo fmic 3" exhaust freddy intake manifold q45tb q45 maf   Re: s1 RB25det flooding at start up Fri Apr 12, 2013 5:07 am No, I didn't. I found the problem though. There was a break in one of the ecu coolant temp sensor wires. Once it was repaired it fired right up with no problems. I would have never thought a non working coolant temp sensor would have caused such an issue.
    • Hi sorry late reply I didnt get a chance to take any pics (my mechanics on the other side of the city) but the plugs were fouled from being too rich. I noticed the MAF wasn't genuine, so I replaced it with a genuine green label unit. I also swapped in a different ignitor, but the issue remains. I've narrowed it down a bit now: - If I unplug and reconnect the fuel lines and install fresh spark plugs, the car starts right up and runs perfectly. Took it around the block with no issues - As soon as I shut it off and try to restart, it won't start again - Fuel pressure while cranking is steady around 40 psi, injectors have good spray, return line is clear, and the FPR vacuum is working. It just seems like it's getting flooded after the first start I unplugged coolant sensors to see if its related to ECU flooding but that didnt make a difference. Im thinking its related to this because this issue only started happening after fixing coolant leaks and replacing the bottom part of the stock manifolds coolant pipe. My mechanic took off the inlet to get to get to do these repairs. My mechanics actually just an old mate who's retired now so ill be taking it to a different mechanic who i know has exp with RBs to see if they find anything. If you have any ideas please send em lll give it a try. Ive tried other things like swapping the injectors, fuel rail, different fuel pressure regs, different ignitor, spark plugs, comp test and MAF but the same issue persists.
    • My return flow is custom and puts the return behind the reo, instead of at the bottom. All my core is in the air flow, rather than losing some of it up behind the reo. I realise that the core really acts more as a spiky heatsink than as a constant rate heat exchanger, and that therefore size is important.... but mine fits everything I needed and wanted without having to cut anything, and that's worth something too. And there won't be a hot patch of core up behind the reo after every hit, releasing heat back into the intake air.
    • There is a really fun solution to this problem, buy a Haltech (or ECU of your choice) and put the MAF in the bin.  I'm assuming your going to want more power in future, so you'll need to get the ECU at some stage. I'd put the new MAF money towards the new ECU.
