hey guys in the process of getting quotes for my sound system that i shall soon be getting and i just wanna know if it sounds like a good deal. Im not gonna mention the place im getting it from but i know the bloke who owns it and he said he'll look after me but still i would like to hear your opinions.

now i already got a 7" touch screen double din head unit so i dnt need a new head unit and the previous owner left all his amp wiring and fuse stuff in the car for me.

So this is what im getting

MTX 12" Sledghammer Sub in a hatch sub box coz the sledgehammer box wont fit in the 32 boot

MTX 6.5" 3 ways in the rear parcel

MTX 6.5" Splits in the front and also using MTX tweeters

MTX 4 Channel Amp...Dont know the rating of it yet coz he said he needs to figure out how much power i'll need

soo all up including labour i was quoted nearly $1000...well he said the max will be $1000

so does this sound like a good deal??

cheers and appreciate your opinons.

Sounds like good value to me, in comparison, my overpriced sh*tty sound system upgrade (just a cheap cd/mp3 deck, cables, basic 12" sub & a weak 80W rms amp :teehee: + install) already costed me close to $700 @ "a place that shall remain nameless... "

^^ +1

I had a simple upgrade head unit 2 speakers 1 sub and cost me close to 800 not fitted

thats minus the amp i already purchased off a mate

i think i got robbed

Car audio is a funny thing like that. It really all depends on the sound that you want. You really do get what you pay for, but it's a hard thing to measure because it's really only up to the persons ears.

Some people will buy one set of front splits that cost more than your entire setup, but does it really sound that much better? Very subjective thing, that.

MTX isn't the best brand out there, but it sure as hell ain't the worst. I think if you've listened to the components and like the way that it all sounds, then that's a good price to get it all done and sorted for you.

cool thanks guys for ya opinions really appreciate it

yeh i know mtx aint the best but as some one said cant remember who lol it def aint the worst..

also im not building a sound off car or a car for show so i didnt really wana spend a shitload on the sound system to just have the best brand out.

this sound system is for me to have so i can listen to music with decent quality unlike i have been for the past 5 months with these shitty 6.5" boss audio ebay cheapies lol and btw only one works now lol

more opinions and advice are welcome

cheers

Rather than start up a new thread, I will just add onto the end of this one.

I just bought for my 32 V-Spec II the following

Pioneer DEHP6050UB Head Unit 9.jpg

Pioneer TSD1702C 6.5inch Splits for the front 27.jpg

Pioneer TS-A1682S 6inch 4-way speakers for parcel shelf 32.jpg

Pioneer GM6300F 600w 4 channel amp - to run the speakers 48.jpg

Pioneer GMD7400M 800w Class D Mono Amplifier to run the sub 47.jpg

Pioneer TS-W307D2 - Champion Series 12inch Component Subwoofer (2 Ω Dual Voice Coil Type) 1200W Max 52.jpg

The sub is boxed in this pioneer box http://www.strathfield.com.au/home.aspx?pa...p;productid=125 I hope it fits!

Also got a Sony 4G 4ch wiring kit and an extra set of Sony RCA's

All up price installed was 1960 on 12 months interest free, would have been 1810 cash price.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
