Got some PFC problems.

I got series 2 R33 and i thing i bough a series 1 pfc as it wont prime the 044 fuel pump long enough to let the car start. Stock ecu primes for around 3 seconds, pfc primes for around 1.

Secondly when we program any setting in and then turn the car off and then on again the setting get lost. I tried another series 1 pfc and it does something similiar.

Any1 know whats going on, and what model numbers would be for series 2.

My PFC model number is PFC RB25 9810-0046

Other model number is RB25 9708-0021

I have series 1 with power fc and it primes the pump for about 3 seconds, not 1.

what fuel pump u running?

I rang up hypertek today who are the apexi aus dealers and they recon the fuel pump is not communicating with the pfc properly, but mechanic have used this fuel pump and power fc's before and it works. Also they recon that the pfc is in ocked mode and the only way to unlock it is to two the car to their shop with the pfc and then they do a diagonistic test on it with the pfc laptop software they have (and the only comapny in aus with the saftware). They also said that they can tune the car alot better with the laptop than with the hand controller but some1 else i know had their car tuned by them, then went to another well known tuner and managed to get near 40rwkw more using the hand controller.

What to farkin do?

I am running a bosch 044, before that it was stock, no problems either way. I have never heard of a fuel pump not communicating with a power fc, it doesnt have fuzzy logic or anything, just binary swiching? So WTF?

Have you tried resetting the power fc - back to original settings?

It may be worth asking what functions are available throught laptop that arent available throught hand controller, but if you dont need to activate them, why bother with getting them to do the tune. A good tune depends on the guy pushing the buttons, not how many buttons he can push:)

ok sorted a few things out, we chucked my pfc on another gts that was there and hey presto it farking started and saved the setting once changed.

So some wiring in my car is farked, coz its not keeping power to the pfc and somehow not working with the fuel pump. I dont think its a fuel pump issue rather something in the loom that is not working properly!!

My climate control also always resets when i turn the car off, so its some connection there!!

any1 know how i can fix this??

Have a look towards the bottom of the page for a post by whatsisname.

i dont think its the plug as we did a check of all the sensors and they r all recieving a signal, i even blew in the air filter and it registered!

Looks like an ignition wire is screwed up somewhere, who knows about the skyline ecu's?

Inasnt, it could be that the wires not connecting, and causing all the trouble, arent related to any sensors? Might explain things.

It would be worth having a close look a the plug just in case. I think it is the problem for a couple of reasons:

a) the plug is the only thing you have farked with apart from the ecu, and you know the ecu works, and

B) it would appear that having a plug fault is not an uncommon event.

all the evidence points to it. Perhaps even try giving the connections a clean and just do a close visual.

In another way, I sort of hope it is the plug, for your sake, as otherwise WTF is it?

Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
