Exhuast Query

hey all

i was thinkn bout choppin my exhaust off just after the cat, first of all this isnt a road going car n i know it will be proper loud but is there any peformance downside to doing this? will i need it tuned?

no disadvantage.. whether or not you will get an ADVANTAGE depends on your current exhaust/turbo/engine setup.. your current setup will also determine if you need a change in tune........ probably not... more info and we can help you more.

only problem/retune required if the current exhaust is restrictive

as removing the restriction will alter things a reasonable amount

at the moment it has a 3inch turbo back xaust into 3inch cat then 3.5inch, im gonna make something up later this weekend n see how it goes, just dont want to break anything really,

also if i pull the guts out of the cat will this cause it to run lean/rich?

if your goin to chop it off after the cat than gut the cut.. why dont you just unbolt it before the cat.. and get a straight 3inch made up for rest of the way.. no mufflers no cats and will knock a bit of noise out compared to having it just dumped under the car

i would recommend doing a side pipe cause your gonna be blowing flames and soot all under the car

Get your local exh shop to dump it out the side should cost FA

make the exhaust go into a Y and twin 3" sidepipes just under the passanger door

well i done it, it staying off road, driven it twice now to and from drift practice, blows flames and sets off car alarms hahahahah

Yeah as said, your best to cut if off before the cat. or gut the cat.. its a huge restriction...........
