Wow that sucks dude!

Where was it parked? There may have been a security camera somewhere that got something..

it was parked on terrace road near riverside drive, they smashed the passenger window, i got dark tin so i guess that helped them. no cameras, police already checked

Its so crap how this sort of thing happens. Not nearly as bad, but at last years Autosalon, someone took a limestone rock to my R33. This was parked under the convention center too. Got the security to check their cameras, but my car was blocked by a pillar. Hope you catch them man. These people should pay.

thats heaps of stuff gone man .. damn .. hope u catch those cu*ts soon man .. and make sure u chop off their hands and legs ... sorry to hear that ... shall keep a close eye on anyone one selling those stuff ..

Sorry to hear about your misfortunes...

This is such a common story, these guys/scum obviously target these places knowing there will be something of worth to take. If I go, Im either driving a bunky or catching the train/bus.

Ridiculous!

im over people targetting cars. they take the oppotunity to ruin cars at events that are going to attract them, ie. auto salon. u park up ur beloved car which you are always weiry of taking to such events like these for the reason of them getting vandalized. and when u come out to find ur car half f%^$ed your almost not suprised it happened.

like skydragon said, you almost need to drive a bunkie around the show but then your defeating to purpose of having that beloved car just bcoz of SOME A$$E$

Whatever car you drive you have to take precautions. I had a 14k audio system in my Pulsar and an 8k system in my Ford Meteor (that had no alarm, no tint, nothing to secure it), and not once were those cars touched!!

* If you've got a stereo, don't play it loud coming into a shopping centre car park (or cp in general).

* Hide anything of value that can be taken (don't leave radar detector up on dash, take off stereo face plates, hide other personal belongings).

* Park your car where there are lots of people coming in and out from (not on the other side of the shopping centre where no one can see it)

But doing the above is no guarntee someone won't touch your car, but AT LEAST its the best precautions you can take.

Well what is that purpose of driving a performance car to Autosalon? End of the day whether you agree or not, its just to show off that I too as well drive a performance car (unless that car is your only car then fair enough, but then you could always catch public transport).

Then while your car is parked it then becomes a different purpose, one for thieves while your enjoying the show. They know you're not going to be back for a while, so they've got all the time in the world to strip out your car or worse still put it on a tow truck.

After the show you come back to your car, see your car stripped out and then pay the $15-20 parking ticket for your time at the show.

Owning a performance car you have to weigh up risks (as mentioned from another topic), from home to where ever you take it. If those risks are too high, then don't own a performance car BUT if you still go ahead with it you only have yourself to blame really when shit happens.

My suggestion to all Skyline owners...buy a bunky!! It's worth it.

its not performance cars that usually get broken into, its the ones with loud, expensive audio systems, that look rich, so to speak.. so go ahead, bring your gtr, just make it look poor and dirty lol.. then they break into your car and steal your bag.. (wow, bag, must have cool stuff in it... uni books and pencilcase, goodjob) btw, the uni book theif got caught lol

that is so hipocritical dont you drive a skyline ?

my post is to see if anyone knows anything about my gear

i do own another car, just happen to like my Skyline better

its not about showing off?? - if i wanted to do that my car wouldn't look stock standed!

But thank you champ, for re- inforcing in my mind that it is me i should blame!

thanks to all the other guys for keeping an eye out....

    • Look for broken wire or bad connector at the motor. Might not be it, but is worth starting there, as it is easy.
    • Hi everyone, I’m having an issue with my R32 GT-R. Sometimes, when the car goes over a bump or experiences some vibration, the 4WD warning light comes on the dashboard. When I check the code from the control unit in the trunk, it shows Code 19 – ETS Motor. However, everything seems to be working fine — if I turn off the engine and restart the car, the light goes away and everything functions normally. Has anyone experienced this before? Where should I start troubleshooting this issue? Thanks in advance!
    • I'm back from the dyno - again! I went looking for someone who knew LS's and had a roller dyno, to see how it shaped up compared to everything else and confirm the powerband really is peaking where Mr Mamo says it should. TLDR: The dyno result I got this time definitely had the shape of how it feels on the road and finally 'makes sense'. Also we had a bit more time to play with timing on the dyno, it turns out the common practice in LS is to lower the timing around peak torque and restore it to max after. So given a car was on the dyno and mostly dialled in already, it was time for tweaking. Luis at APS is definitely knowledgable when it came to this and had overlays ready to go and was happy to share. If you map out your cylinder airmass you start seeing graphs that look a LOT like the engine's torque curve. The good thing also is if you map out your timing curve when you're avoiding knock... this curve very much looks like the inverse of the airmass curve. The result? Well it's another 10.7kw/14hp kw from where I drove it in at. Pretty much everywhere, too. As to how much this car actually makes in Hub Dyno numbers, American Dyno numbers, or Mainline dyno numbers, I say I don't know and it's gone up ~25kw since I started tinkering lol. It IS interesting how the shorter ratio gears I have aren't scaled right on this dyno - 6840RPM is 199KMH, not 175KMH. I have also seen other printouts here with cars with less mods at much higher "kmh" for their RPM due Commodores having 3.45's or longer (!) rear diff ratios maxing out 4th gear which is the 1:1 gear on the T56. Does this matter? No, not really. The real answer is go to the strip and see what it traps, but: I guess I should have gone last Sunday...
    • 310mm rotors will be avilable from Australia, Japan, and probably a few other places. Nothing for the front can be put on the back.
    • The filter only filters down to a specific size. Add to that, the filter is AFTER the pump. So it means everything starts breaking your pump even if its being filtered out.
