hi

ive just recieved the turbo from the links below & its a rather scary looking unit

the exducer bore is about 60 or 61mm so the major diameter of the turbine must be around 65mm?? & the rear A/R is 48.

the minor diameter of the compressor wheel is about 58mm

thats about all i know about it.

i would like a bit of an idea what its rated at, going by those numbers it seems quite a bit bigger than a hks gtrs, so maybe it would be around 450hp???

i realise its not going to be resposive lol

thanks

Now this might seem silly... But have you contacted UAS?

They are the people mentioned in both the posts you've linked... being they sold the turbo originally what, 12 months ago.

So, again... This might sound silly... They would probably know more about the turbo than anyone else being what you've provided is largely vague information. http://www.gtr.com.au/

And also in the threads you've linked there is other info like:

"also called Jim at UAS (96209000). Tuned an r33 gtst with all supporting mods, on standars bottom end, making close to 270 rws, reaching full boost at just over 4000 RPM at about 17 psi. ask for yourself if you want solid evidence"

"just off the phone with grant at Per4moranz. His number is (08) 93586383. At 16psi, he claims that it will hit 250rwks with all supporting mods. Can be pushed to more than 20 psi (obviously not advisable with standard bottom end). He also says that it is very responsive, full bost by 3600 RPM. Call him to see for yourself or ask John at UAS if you want to do your own research"

So in keeping with the rough/vague theme i'd roughly assume its 400-450hp because of a .48 rear.

And if it does indeed have a .48 rear, i see problems... Why is it making boost so late @ 3600-4000rpm. Thats quite poor for something with a .48 rear housing when you consider my GT30 with a .82 rear housing and MUCH larger rear wheels... was on 4200rpm/17psi and was rated @ 600hp.

Sounds like a very average turbo for its price tag considering the GT30 was cheaper... again, thats only going on the vauge information around.

no i havent contacted uas, the thought of ringing them up & saying 'i have a its turbo here can you tell me something about it', when im not going to give them any business, just thought d be wasting their time?

as for performanz here in perth i thought they closed down ages ago

yes the rear a/r is 48, what size is the rear wheel or exducer bore on yur gt30?

John/UAS are pretty good most of the time. Being they are avid contributors to the forum

dont assume they wont help

Off the top of my head i wouldnt know re: my one... this was 3 years ago now since i sold that turbo

Like i said, it was on a .82 housing, and the wheel filled most of it.

So its going to be substancially bigger than something thats sitting in a .48 housing thats for sure cause a .48 is almost stock size i think?

Sounds like a very average turbo for its price tag considering the GT30 was cheaper... again, thats only going on the vauge information around.

yeah around 2.8k new is very pricey, glad i didnt pay anything like that

ok, my bad i thought per4manz the ITS/Garrett dealer here had closed down, but i was confusing it with formaz that did close down.

anyway i took it to Grant at per4manz today & he said it is a T04E hybrid rated at 535HP, 76mm od comp wheel & 63mm od turbine.

so im very happy with that, what a bargin!

cheers
