is 100mm thick cooler any good, are they too thick for effective cooling.

i have a 300x500x100mm core and was debatin getting a 300x600x76mm cooler

sum peoples say the 100mm thick 1s are to thick for effective cooling and the 76mm would cool rather well

car = r32 gtst basic mods inc rb25 turbo

any info would be much appreciated fellas

dont forget for a front mount, you need your radiator to get air too...

if you can get the thick core for cheap, as in same price, and you plan on putting more mods on , and making serious HP, i say go for it so you dont have to buy another one later, however, with that said i would prolly be installing twin thermo fans to your radiator, so it stays plenty cool....

if you plan on leaving the gtst in this stage1-2 mod levels, then i rekon go thinner. core...

You really only need a 100mm thick intercooler if you're aiming for real big horsepower...like 600hp+. Any lower than that, and a 76mm intercooler will be more than fine. Yes, you do need cooling to the engine bay too, so you might need to replace with a better thinner thermo fan type. Also, is your intercooler a bar & plate, or tube & fin? Bar & Plate intercoolers are usually thicker.
