how much $ to install an alarm?

I am in Brisbane and have just purchased an alarm and am wanting to get it installed into my MY98. The alarm has remote start and a turbo timer built into it. I have read over the instructions and it looks very simple as far as all the features are concerned as they are all pre programmed into the brain.

My MY98 has already got a oldish alarm in it that will have to be removed.

I have been quoted around the $300 mark to install and just thought that price was quite dear. Considering you can buy an alarm for $289 and the price includes installation i am just a bit unsure.

What is a good price?

Anyone know anyone good in brisbane to do an install?
