The other night we put a turbosmart boost controller in. Took it for a run went fine.... Went for a longer run that night an a smell started coming from the engine bay to inside the cabin so pulled over and opened the hood. could hear a clicking sound from the turbo and a smell as if something was burning..... Has anyone else had similar symptons or could someone explain whats happened

Do the vac lines go near the exhaust housing?

could be the reason for the smell

As for the turbo, sounds like manifold gasket has given out somewhere, very common problem.

Ensure you replace all the manifold studs if it is a manifold gasket gone.

I just fitted one of these to the same car I guess the questions i have are: 1. is it a stock turbo and what poundage are you running it at and 2. did you follow the diagram listed on this site for fitting it or did you use one from another source. Now i am all paranoid about it i'll keep an eye on mine over the next week and see if i have any issues.
