THE WORKS BELL GIVEAWAY DRAW DATE IS THIS SATURDAY 4 APRIL !

Hi All,

As I wrote in a thread on another forum ...

Last week we were looking at our calendar and were planning to draw it at the first event of Drift Australia in early 2009, but as you have probably heard, the first event for Drift Australia currently scheduled is now not until September 19-20 (See this page for more info ... http://www.driftaustralia.com.au/news.asp?newsitem=344 ), and there is no way we want to wait until September to draw it !

Another event is Superlap at Oran Park Raceway on Sunday 29th March 2009, but we are not a Superlap sponsor, so Superlap doesn't look like an option to draw it at.

With any luck another sponsor will step in and Drift Australia will go ahead, but if it doesn't, then we will do the Rapfix II draw at the very first event we attend after xmas (we won't be at any events before xmas - we're flat out filling xmas orders and responding to xmas sale enquiries).

We want it drawn asap too. As soon as we have a confirmed date for the first event we will be attending after xmas, we'll get this thing drawn.

We have been so flat with work out since xmas, that I haven't stepped foot on racetrack since the 2008 final of the V8 Supercars at Oran.

With no confirmed rounds of Drift Australia until the single round later in the year, there are no rounds of Drift Australia to draw it at, so here's what we're going to do ...

Instead of waiting until we eventually get a break from work and get to a racetrack (I've almost forgotten what racing fuel smells like ;) ), what we are going to do is draw this thing this Saturday April 4.

In order to ensure fairness, each entrant will be assigned a unique number based on the order they entered in, in reverse order (so the last person who entered is number 1, second last entrant is number 2 etc).

We will then use a computer random number generator which will select a number at random.

Then the person whose entrant number matches the number drawn is the winner.

We are looking for a third party random number generator online to use to draw it, we think that this one would be good ...

http://www.random.org/integers/

It's simple, fair, and most importantly gets the draw done.

So if you haven't entered yet, you only have tonight, Thursday and Friday to enter it and have a chance to win these ...

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
    • Lock me in mate, although I'm not sure if I'll be heading up from Goulburn or down from Sydney, either way, return will be back to Goulburn
