Well i am looking at buying a set of Work Emotion XD9's for my skyline. the only problem that i get is that i haven't really got any idea of how to work out the offsets for the wheels. Firstly i dont mind if i have to use a spacer on the hubs but i would prefer not to, and secondly i want the wheels to have a lot of dish, front and rear.

One of my mates has get a set of WORK VS KF 18x9 (+26) and 18x10 (+20) rims and they have lots of dish and look awesome. follow the link to see pics http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Eo...98#entry3917898.

Now what i am wanting is something like his wheels but obviously in the xd9s. I am looking at getting the size size wheels with the 18x9 in the front and the 18x10 in the rear. if you could help me out with this offset problem it would be greatly appreciated.

for those dimentions you will need guard work.

i run 18x8.5 + 30 and 18x9.5 +30 and this is a good place to start as those dimentions sit perfectly flush (read a couple mm out) on my s1 gtst.

you need to think about the possibility of paint cracking etc.

for the bigger dish you could go 18x8 +20 front and 19x9 +20 rear with good results (this will still need a MINOR roll and probably strechy's)

Hey bud, We have a set of work emotion XT7 in stock at the moment in white 18x8.5 +25 and 18x9.5 +17. Normal retail is $2250 + postage but I can do them for $2050+ postage as we are trying to clear some room for new stock etc. If you want the XD9 we can order them for you aswell.

Get the lowest offsets available in the XD9's. From memory i think its 18x9 +20 front and 18x10 +18 rear, or even a 17x9.5 +17 front. Front will fit fine with rolled guards, a 215 tyre and some negative camber. Rears will fit with a roll and slight flare with 235 tyres.

I couldn't find any good pics of a R33 with low offset XD9's, but here's a few tough pics of R32's with XD9's.

Green R32 has 18x10 +18 225/40/18 in a Federal 595 and 17x9.5 +17 federal again 215/45/17.

Silver R32 has 17 x 9.5 + 17 with 215/40/R17 tyres up front, not sure about the rears.

R33 has fronts 17x9.5 +12 with 20mm spacer so -8 with 215/45, rears are 18x10.5 +26 with 245/40

The R32's are perfect examples how good low offsets make a car look TOUGH

Give abu a PM. He's got some white XD9s on a purple 33 GTR. Ask for some pictures of them or even look for his for sale thread. Should have some pictures in there. I'll post them up if I stumble across them.

oh my silver R32 wooo it made this thread lol

Anyways yeah like Adam said, rears are 18 x 10 + 18 with 235/40/R18 tyres. Needed some flaring as oppose to rolling/pumping

    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
    • I checked spark on all cylinders and they all visually have spark with the plug pulled and grounded, but plug 1 is the only one that fouled. This was a running swap that blew up and was rebuilt by a machine shop, put a new wiring specialties harness and did all gaskets, studs, and bolts while it was out.  compression is 135-150 across all cylinders. Aside from that from my understanding with the z32 ecu and maf the car should start regardless. The wiring for TPS and the dual 02 sensor/ dual knock sensor stuff shouldn’t actually stop the car from starting or even running well, (just slightly rich)  they just give fault codes. Car supposedly is supposed to start as long as you have z32 afm and ecu with the nistune base map and that’s info coming from a well known and trusted tuner who does a lot with SR/RB (Rsenthalpy). After more trouble shooting today where I’m at right now is that the cas is sending signal to the injectors they click while spinning the rotor, Fuel pressure is now set at 43psi, all cylinders have good compression and all of the plugs looked great (just wet with fuel) except for cylinder 1 which was very black (cylinder 1 has 150psi compression). all of the coils generate spark if pulled out and grounded out on the head. On the fuel pump car just pops into the exhaust. On starting fluid car will fire off. Hard to tell if all cylinders are firing off but definitley a couple. sounds like all of them but it’s only for 3-5 seconds hard to tell.
    • Final update!!! Got the front bar fitted and sprayed and all sorted now. My cutouts worked great and the indicators aren’t just falling off. 😂
    • Is this a brand new LSD? if so, have you followed any break/bed in procedure for it? Usually involves heaps of figure 8 patterns, a fluid flush.
