so i wake up this morning to a message saying my poor 32 got smashed, this being from fellow SAU member shaz! so i think some vandals, or a small ding, shaz goes on to explain, she was in haundorf and some drunk idiot was on the wrong side of the road, going around a corner, the car in front stopped, as did shaz, the guy behind then plowed shaz up the ass at 70km/hr!definately not enjoyable for anyone!

now shazelik is still in hopsital waiting to see a specialist for her neck, she also needs a new rear bar for a 32! lol

anyway just putting it out there, have her in your thoughts and prayers, never good for this to happen to your pride and joy, but worst of all she is hurt, so jsut think of her! and show her some SAU love!

cheers boys n girls

yea funny story tho, she let someone from work take her car up the shop, just down the road, and he comes back with a gutter rashed f**ked up rim, so shaz is having no luck! but now everyone knows her life story! lol sorry shaz! but jokes aside, is a nice car, and she is a good friend, so thoughts and prayers everyone!

That's certainly bad luck, but if she was stationary I highly doubt the guy was doing 70km/hr at impact.

That's write off speed for both cars pure and simple.

60km/hr vs stationary car is enough speed to make a VL two feet shorter.

As always, and others have said, glad she's ok - no-one likes to hear of fellow enthusiasts being injured.

thanks guys got outta hospital last nite

had to have so many scans and xrays, they thought i had fractured my neck. but they think its ok. just have to go back for more scans over the next few weeks.

i'm really not sure how fast the guy hit me, he said he was doing 85 before he even braked n he was sitting pretty close. He told the cops about 70, but i really have no idea.

the rear bar is totally f**ked, the boot is all pushed up n won't shut n the drivers door won't close properly. haven't really looked at it closely, yet but i think the reason it doesn't look so bad is becoz he must have tried to swerve to miss me and hit the tow hook on the right hand side of the car. His car is totally stuffed tho.

if anyone knows of a cheap rear bar going around let me know.

Thanks!

    • Sorry I haven't been following all the detail, so you may have tried this. Does it idle with the tiniest bit of throttle you can add? You've mentioned the IACV, does it have an AAC valve and have you adjusted it at all (ie, screw the idle adjust screw all the way in, then back it out a couple of turns until idle is stable)?
    • My bad, I unplugged the one underlined in red instead of yellow before. With the car started, after unplugging the IACV (the one underlined in yellow), it idled at around 400/500 for 3 seconds before stalling. Attempting to start the car without the IACV will not start the car.   It does stutter and sputter for around 5 seconds before dying. However, immediately after starting it, you can already hear some slight sputters from the exhaust.   It won't start with the AFM unplugged. If it is when the car has already started, it stalls in a few seconds.   Yesterday, I did take some logs using Nistune of 3 scenarios. Car idling till it stalls Car idling and unplugging the IACV Car idling and removing the AFM I also have some previous logs of when the Car is idling till it stalls and when driving and it cuts. I am not really knowledgeable enough to understand what to look for. After every test, car idles rougher and rougher, until I have to stop. It will be fine the day after.
    • There is no difference between a 17x8 and an 18x8. The total diameter of the tyre needs to remain +/- the same (so you don't mess up the gearing, speedo reading, and clearance when turning front wheels..... so you just need to use a lower profile tyre on th 18 than you do on the 17. /rocket surgery.
    • I thought the same to start with. But then I thought it was one of those LCAs where the end of the ARB goes through a bushing in the LCA itself, instead of having an end link.
    • Yeah - I mean, go the other way. Smaller range. Not larger.
