The weekly Coastie Cruise is back for the new year, starting tonight!

Oh, and by the way, I'd like to organise a cruise for Sydney and NSW owners either late this month or early- to mid-February. Who's keen, and who's got suggestions for a route and destination? I was thinking taking Putty Road up into the Hunter Valley...

  • 3 weeks later...

Who's coming up this week? We're thinking of taking donations for the bushfire appeal - my sister works for Unilever, and they're matching all monetary donations dollar-for-dollar.

Okay guys n gals, some of you may or may not know about the weekly thursday night meet/cruise to the coast. For those of you who

dont know, just click here or here for a full explanation. Basically we meet at the truckstop at berowra around 7.30pm, and aim for an

8pm departure. You can take the regular highway or go up the old road, its up to you. For the stagea owners who do know about this

weekly cruise, WHERE ARE YOU? I want to seriously get some major stagea representation up there! If you have any questions just

post in the thread or send me a PM i'll be glad to try answer any questions you might have.

If anyone is a little unsure of how to get to the truck stop i'd be more than happy to meet somewhere close on the way, i live in the

hills area. No excuses people, i want to see more stageas up there cos its currently only Nick and myself and we both want that to

change!

Hope to see some more of you up there over the coming weeks.

Once I get my M35 which probably won't be till this Friday I will make it to a meet.

I'll read up on it, but it sounds pretty good to me!

Count me in guys.

2001 M35 Stagea (pending)

Correction to my last post, I may if things work out collect the car tomorrow (Thursday).

All going to plan I may make the cruise tomorrow night.

Any other M35's going?

Regards

Stephen

(BIS-93B)

ill be able to drive probably next week, but i cant make this week

and yeah we need another M35 to show up Stephen! lol

I take it there is a large amount of WC34's but a lack of M35's?

I can understand why, I was initially after a WC34 but the mob I was dealing with didn't have anything I liked in that range. I started looking at the M35 and decided it was a better choice as everything was newer and it's a more current driveline. It's a nice vehicle it just doesn't have the same lines and appearance.

Is your car off the road or are you out of action? lol

Pic of mine attached, make sure you come up and say hello if we both make it next week.

It's a metallic wine red, it's not bad I think it grows on you. I'm led to believe it's a fairly rare colour for the M35.

As for brakes, do you need them? :P Just put a brick on the go go pedal and you'll be right! afterall it's 4wd yes?

i guess i could just back off a little earlier. they weigh 2 tons so it will come to a stop by itself

hahah nah its mostly the drugs that are making me drowsy. and if i bring the mrs to drive, theres NO way we could keep up. she has a feather foot. and last time she drove it she scraped half of one wheel on a gutter!!!

Stephen, it would be great to have you along if you manage to get your car tomorrow. We need more Stageas in general, whether they're C34s or M35s... It's usually just me along, Alex comes on occasion, and there's another owner there sometimes because he lives locally to the meet-up spot.

Ian, you should come along even if the missus is driving - it looks like the rain will continue so we'll most likely be taking the freeway anyway...

I might go tomorrow....just have to check with my social director.

If you want to go Ian I don't mind picking you up and dropping you off....let me know....and don't worry I will go the new road if you want......be good to have more M35's than C34's for once aye! :P

    • I thought that might be the case, thats what I'll start saving for. Thanks for the info
    • Ps i found the below forum and it seems to be the same scenario Im dealing with. Going to check my ECU coolant temp wire tomorrow    From NICOclub forum: s1 RB25det flooding at start up Thu Apr 11, 2013 7:23 am I am completely lost on this. Car ran perfectly fine when I parked it at the end of the year. I took the engine out and painted the engine bay, and put a fuel cell with an inline walbro 255 instead of the in tank unit I had last year. After reinstalling everything, the engine floods when the fuel pump primes. if i pull the fuel pump fuse it'll start, and as soon as I put the fuse back in it starts running ridiculously rich. I checked the tps voltage, and its fine. Cleaned the maf as it had some dust from sitting on a shelf all winter, fuel pressure is correct while running, but wont fire until there is less than 5psi in the lines. The fuel lines are run correctly. I have found a few threads with the same problem but no actual explanation of what fixed it, the threads just ended. Any help would be appreciated. I found the problem though. There was a break in one of the ecu coolant temp sensor wires. Once it was repaired it fired right up with no problems. I would have never thought a non working coolant temp sensor would have caused such an issue.
    • Hi sorry late reply I didnt get a chance to take any pics (my mechanics on the other side of the city) but the plugs were fouled from being too rich. I noticed the MAF wasn't genuine, so I replaced it with a genuine green label unit. I also swapped in a different ignitor, but the issue remains. I've narrowed it down a bit now: - If I unplug and reconnect the fuel lines and install fresh spark plugs, the car starts right up and runs perfectly. Took it around the block with no issues - As soon as I shut it off and try to restart, it won't start again - Fuel pressure while cranking is steady around 40 psi, injectors have good spray, return line is clear, and the FPR vacuum is working. It just seems like it's getting flooded after the first start I unplugged coolant sensors to see if its related to ECU flooding but that didnt make a difference. Im thinking its related to this because this issue only started happening after fixing coolant leaks and replacing the bottom part of the stock manifolds coolant pipe. My mechanic took off the inlet to get to get to do these repairs. My mechanics actually just an old mate who's retired now so ill be taking it to a different mechanic who i know has exp with RBs to see if they find anything. If you have any ideas please send em lll give it a try. Ive tried other things like swapping the injectors, fuel rail, different fuel pressure regs, different ignitor, spark plugs, comp test and MAF but the same issue persists.
    • My return flow is custom and puts the return behind the reo, instead of at the bottom. All my core is in the air flow, rather than losing some of it up behind the reo. I realise that the core really acts more as a spiky heatsink than as a constant rate heat exchanger, and that therefore size is important.... but mine fits everything I needed and wanted without having to cut anything, and that's worth something too. And there won't be a hot patch of core up behind the reo after every hit, releasing heat back into the intake air.
    • There is a really fun solution to this problem, buy a Haltech (or ECU of your choice) and put the MAF in the bin.  I'm assuming your going to want more power in future, so you'll need to get the ECU at some stage. I'd put the new MAF money towards the new ECU.
