hi guys

i was wondering,

is the R34 GT-R clutch, what you call a "dual-mass" flywheel????

from experience dual mass fly wheels cannot be machined upon replacement of a new clutch.

and also is the clutch a "Push" or "Pull" type?????????

thanks guys

no one has an answer?

Pretty sure clutch is pull type....

hey there bro

ive finally surfed and found the answer and this is what ive learnt...

the R34 GT-R the 6-speed GETRAG gearbox has a "dual mass" flywheel... when its time to replace the clutch, replacing the flywheel is also necessary.

generally a solid single mass flywheel is replaced as dual masses cannot be machined. (a customer has actually replaced a new clutch & a dodgy mechanic machined the dual mass & caused clutch slippage). Also care is needed when replacing the dual mass with a solid flywheel as the dual mass is quieter and INTANTLY after installation, a rattling noise will appear. (which sounds like syncro problem)

also solid flywheels can be a bit heavier, causing premature wear to the gearbox.

and the clutch is a PUSH type, as MOST cable activated clutches are pull type and hydraulic activated are PUSH type.

some of the twin & triple plate aftermarket clutches are in fact PULL type and a conversion kit is supplied.

correct me if im wrong guys...

hopefully ive supplied some useful info to the foruthumbsup.gifm

yeah ive got a exedy twin hyper plate clutch , it is a pull type..

and yeah mine makes rattling noise too

well what did you do with your flywheel when your clutch got put in? or was it done before you owned it?

    • Agreed, I've never seen a 260RS specific manual. As GTSBoy said it will mostly be stagea other than the engine loom https://www.hgeconsulting.com.au/stageaservicemanual.pdf
    • You'lll likely have to make do with R33 GTR for engine/tranny stuff, and Stagea for the body. I don't know that there's even been an actual diagram seen in the wild.
    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
