firstly thanks dan

but to the ppl who critised ric i think for his first EVER time organising a cruise he did ok massive turn out yes there where problems alot stem from ppl who didnt listen as the maps where handed out cause i heard clearly first stop was karryinup underground carpark then through scabs and cot to perrylakes then onto kings park n burswood i actually had to chase down a bunch of cars and bring them back onto course that was interesting thought i was going to get us lost going backstreets back to karryinup but in the end was good fun love the bmw's breaking down (no offence to the owners) but shows the power of the jap imports lol hopefully i will get together wit ric in the upcoming future and sort out a big cruise with a better system for us all to have a good safe fun day prob a sun arvo cruise they usually suit most ppl but wont be till jan cause its that annoying time of the year now.

in closing mel just a little bit hard on ol ric there he seems like a good bloke bit shy new to the scene and to ridicul him like that yeah we all know it can be done better but at least he made the attempt and with some help i think his next 1 will be 10 fold better

Well actually I don't think it was harsh what so ever, with what people wanted to say to him I think I've said it as soft as possible and yeah he's new to it, so therefore maybe he should have thought more into it before planning a cruise, like Dan said, do the drive yourself to make sure it's good and no I didn't hear anything when the maps were being handed out obviously because not everyone was there at that point and the map should clearly state that. Not only that, how were we meant to follow a mp that 50% of us didn't have???

I think allot of people would agree that my points were extremely valid!

Allot of people were very angry about the layout of the cruise and the amount of petrol that was wasted and I've never been on a cruise before were the mass majority bailed due to confusion and frustration.

Note: I did also clearly state that I was providing constructive critisism.

Sw33ts cruise was one of the funnest I've been on!!! Maybz cos it was my first cruise in the 33!! lol the first meet was confusing but after that was an awsome run and everyone stuck together pretty well!!!

*pms Sw33t* :spank:

haha just woke up mel so im going to post now :)

In regards to that Cruise.....

It was a Bit of an EPIC FAIL! :spank:

1. Not enough Maps

2. Bad timing, eg. Sun in everyones eyes for like 1hour

3. No one had any idea how to read the map if they got one (which we didnt) and ended up at random car parks with some other commodore cruise...wtf?

We ended up joining some antilag cruise i think, we didnt get a map but people seemed to know were they were going.

-

You need to drive the route yourself to make sure it looks all ok, not a thousand traffic lights so the people without maps get seperated and end up at city west some how

and with day light savings i would say try for atleast and 8.30 start 9.00pm depart that way it should be dark

and why werent there proper stops, i heard karrinuyp and others then everyone just bailed, so you need to inform people better

on the maps (+ print sh1t loads!!)

All constructive critisism btw :)

nothings to harsh atm this cruise was a waste of time money and fuel!! next time grow up and plan it a little while ahead. Also wait until u hav been on a forum for at least 6 months and met a few of the ppl on cruises

Most ppl ended up joining emperors cruise which was layed out properly and it was quite relaxing with a few nice long stretches of road just lik a normal cruise should b not sum teenagers fantasy about a cruise that stops and goes NOWHERE

if anyone wants to hav a go at me go rite ahead coz no1 here knows wat i drive or who i am

o and on finishing 100% EPIC FAIL

wtb sw33ts cruise again haha i came on my shagna for that one, and it was a very nice cruise even though we somehow skipped the first meet point....Now that was a cruise! :(

lol Dan wins!! ... (hes not my bf btw)

And Jords... it says ur name babe :(

but full agree!

Yeah Benson we all skipped sw33ts first point for some reason lol and then like 5 of us ended up at freo hahaha that was an awsome night

PS If someone was to organise a cruise...what would be the best amount of time between stops? like on average... is 25 minutes too short? And do we liek the coastal trips? I like the ones that end up in freo for some reason haha opinions?!

yeh everyone like what scott said, poor planning and not really knowing where to go f**ked things up a bit,

im not gonna turn around and say it was the best cruise, but for those who stayed with us we had a pretty good night,

next time everyone, will be better.

just thought id give it a crack seein as tho no ones really tried to organise anythin like this for a while.

some one else have a go?

fair enough

Yeah I'll give it a go.

I've only been on the scene as myself since May, but I've been in the scene for a few years and been on allot of cruises.

I'll organise one for Jan/Feb? And if I screw up you's can nail me too.

But, I won't fck it up like last nights!!!!

Cruise was much unorganized. It was good to see such a great turnout but was a waste of time trying to get that many cars through so many sets of lights and intersections without getting broken up and lost. i and a few more people where at one point flooring it to keep up but it just didn’t happen so in the end, pulled over to a road with "melski, Jivlah, Mod," and a few more and went to the Etuned Cruise.

any way I’m not here to criticize and it was your first time. But please if you organize another cruise try making some meet points and have some road directions.

niran

map was hopeless wasnt even zoomeed in enough so that you could se where to go... a few of us ended up in mosman park to find out that some were meeting at the helipad and then to kwinana or down near bunninbgs leach hwy.. i dont even know if that was the same cruise every1 got lost coz there was no direction time of meeting points or even meeting points... was still a fun nite though meeting new pplz

meeting at salter point or "helipad" or wat ever was the etuned cruise who had the second meet point at leach highway. so that was another cruise. not this one.

    • Wheel alignment immediately. Not "when I get around to it". And further to what Duncan said - you cannot just put camber arms on and shorten them. You will introduce bump steer far in excess of what the car had with stock arms. You need adjustable tension arms and they need to be shortened also. The simplest approach is to shorten them the same % as the stock ones. This will not be correct or optimal, but it will be better than any other guess. The correct way to set the lengths of both arms is to use a properly built/set up bump steer gauge and trial and error the adjustments until you hit the camber you need and want and have minimum bump steer in the range of motion that the wheel is expected to travel. And what Duncan said about toe is also very true. And you cannot change the camber arm without also affecting toe. So when you have adjustable arms on the back of a Skyline, the car either needs to go to a talented wheel aligner (not your local tyre shop dropout), or you need to be able to do this stuff yourself at home. Guess which approach I have taken? I have built my own gear for camber, toe and bump steer measurement and I do all this on the flattest bit of concrete I have, with some shims under the tyres on one side to level the car.
    • Thought I would get some advice from others on this situation.    Relevant info: R33 GTS25t Link G4x ECU Walbro 255LPH w/ OEM FP Relay (No relay mod) Scenario: I accidentally messed up my old AVS S5 (rev.1) at the start of the year and the cars been immobilised. Also the siren BBU has completely failed; so I decided to upgrade it.  I got a newer AVS S5 (rev.2?) installed on Friday. The guy removed the old one and its immobilisers. Tried to start it; the car cranks but doesnt start.  The new one was installed and all the alarm functions seem to be working as they should; still wouldn't start Went to bed; got up on Friday morning and decided to have a look into the no start problem. Found the car completely dead.  Charged the battery; plugged it back in and found the brake lights were stuck on.  Unplugging the brake pedal switch the lights turn off. Plug it back in and theyre stuck on again. I tested the switch (continuity test and resistance); all looks good (0-1kohm).  On talking to AVS; found its because of the rubber stopper on the brake pedal; sure enough the middle of it is missing so have ordered a new one. One of those wear items; which was confusing what was going on However when I try unplugging the STOP Light fuses (under the dash and under the hood) the brake light still stays on. Should those fuses not cut the brake light circuit?  I then checked the ECU; FP Speed Error.  Testing the pump again; I can hear the relay clicking every time I switch it to ON. I unplugged the pump and put the multimeter across the plug. No continuity; im seeing 0.6V (ECU signal?) and when it switches the relay I think its like 20mA or 200mA). Not seeing 12.4V / 7-9A. As far as I know; the Fuel Pump was wired through one of the immobiliser relays on the old alarm.  He pulled some thick gauged harness out with the old alarm wiring; which looks to me like it was to bridge connections into the immobilisers? Before it got immobilised it was running just fine.  Im at a loss to why the FP is getting no voltage; I thought maybe the FP was faulty (even though I havent even done 50km on the new pump) but no voltage at the harness plug.  Questions: Could it be he didnt reconnect the fuel pump when testing it after the old alarm removal (before installing the new alarm)?  Is this a case of bridging to the brake lights instead of the fuel pump circuit? It's a bit beyond me as I dont do a lot with electrical; so have tried my best to diagnose what I think seems to make sense.  Seeking advice if theres for sure an issue with the alarm install to get him back here; or if I do infact, need an auto electrician to diagnose it.
    • Then, shorten them by 1cm, drop the car back down and have a visual look (or even better, use a spirit level across the wheel to see if you have less camber than before. You still want something like 1.5 for road use. Alternatively, if you have adjustable rear ride height (I assume you do if you have extreme camber wear), raise the suspension back to standard height until you can get it all aligned properly. Finally, keep in mind that wear on the inside of the tyre can be for incorrect toe, not just camber
    • I know I have to get a wheel alignment but until then I just need to bring the rear tyres in a bit they're wearing to the belt on the inside and brand new on the outside edge. I did shorten the arms a bit but got it wrong now after a few klms the Slip and VDC lights come on. I'd just like to get it to a point where I can drive for another week or two before getting an alignment. I've had to pay a lot of other stuff recently so doing it myself is my only option
    • You just need a wheel alignment after, so just set them to the same as current and drive to the shop. As there are 2 upper links it may also be worth adding adjustable upper front links at the same time; these reduce bump steer when you move the camber (note that setting those correctly takes a lot longer as you have to recheck the camber at each length of the toe arm, through a range of movement, so you could just ignore that unless the handling becomes unpredictable)
