fair enough having the neon wasnt a good idea, but i thought this was meant to be a commuity where people could talk about stuff without getting shot. i mean if you have issues with people having neons i tink you should keep it to yourself in future. advice and information would be more helpful for people that are learning this kind of thing first hand and first time round.

I was thinking about getting some neons but not anymore...Looks like the police and RTA have woken up to the extreme gains that neons can give...I didn't think it would take long..

I was gonna get green ones for the 48% extra rear wheel horsepower, light grey ones for the handling (halve your lap time on any circuit) and some bright blue ones so I can run my car on E10 without it pinging (do my bit for the energy crisis)...Was also gonna get some super extreme white ones and hook them up to my flux capacitor and fire it up every time I went past a speed camera so all they see is white flash...(donate my savings in fines to neon research)

I also heard that the neonium fluid that the neons give out reduce the air density in the front of the car and this can take 3 seconds off your 1/4 mile ET...can anyone else confirm this?? I reckon more like 2.8 seconds...

oops sorry dude, I am actually pro-neon...

I believe you should take it to court....You should claim that it was a christmas decoration instead..

Tell the magistrate you are sick of people not respecting christmas and you were just trying to instill some christmas cheer into todays modern depressed society...

open and shut case i reckon....

Neons are okay under these conditions:

1) When they spell out the word "Open" in a fish & chip shop window.

2) When they are part of a bad movie about Japanese cars.

I'm sure #1 is ok. Only about 12% sure on #2.

:ermm:

Okay okay, you got me.

Have a look at the VicRoads website linked below - it has all the info you need about the legality of neons (and most other things including BOVs)

http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/Home/RulesS...rdsInformation/

I'm sorry that you got a bad reaction from some of the people on the forum, but I know one of the main annoyances on this forum is people whinging about the cops when they have blatently broken the law.

Its very easy to check if neons are legal, and you should have done it before spending the money and putting them on your car...

As for the neons, serves you right for having them in the first place

I expected a lot more replies suggestion that people who have neons are attracted to the same sex (all hot girls should have half neons :D )

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...
