weird question that hopefully someone can help me with. I sat in my passenger seat for the 1st time in ages recently and it reminded me that my girlfriend has always complained that the passenger seat doesn't incline far enough. At its most verticle postion (any further and it tips forward so that people from the rear passenger seat can get in and out) its about 1-2 inches to far back, when compared to the position of the driver seat, which is fine if you want to sit back and relax but its un-comfortable for any long-ish journey as you have to pull your neck forward to look around . I've pulled the seat out and all looks fine with nothing bent but there doesn't appear to be any adjustment. I've been meaning to jump in another skyline to see if its just mine or if they are all like that but always forget.

Anyone know a solution? If its just mine then I'll buy another front seat.

Car is a R33 GTST S2.

man i have the exact same problem everyone always complains when they get in my car..i am yet to find a soloution, partly because i dont have to sit in it lol sounds selfish but its not on the top of my to do list, keep posted with what you reckon?....i found mine started when my mate who is a friggen big guy sat in it and afta that doesnt come up high enough

If you're in the Dandenong/Springvale area send me a PM and you can have a look at mine... ...I wouldn't think there would be a difference between Series 1 and 2 when it comes to the seats... ...My GF has never complained about the seat being uncomfortable... ...I've also had a lot of other people sit in that seat for work and never had a problem unless they are disabled... ...then it is really them getting in and out that's the problem...

Hmm by that reconning it would seem that the seat is somehow bent, but looking at the seat and the mechanics of the recliner I'm not 100% sure how thats possible but I'd be very happy if it is because that means it just a simple seat replace.

Occasionally I'm that area as my mum lives in Pakenham so when I'm next headed that way I'll let you know.

Cheers

it wouldnt be something as simple as someone messing around with the adjustor knob is it? a mate messed around with mine and the next day passengers seat would sit really low back even though it was at its most up right. a simple readjustment of the knob fixed it.

So it begs me to ask "what knob?" there doesn't appear to be any adjustment of the passenger seat other then the pull up lever on the left hand side that also doubles as the lever to bring the seat completely forward for entry to the back seat.

    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
