Ive done a bit of searching on the forum... and ive come across this....

i just fitted new boots to my handbrake and shifter to my s1 33 it is simple. just undo the screws behind the ashtray and in the centre part once you have it taken off slide it over your handbrake and flip upside down. there are clips holding it inplace just squeeze the sides and the wire will come off them then you have to bend the frame of your new one which is easy follow the old shape and slide back in

I was hoping to get a more detailed explanation on how to change it?

I heard you have to re sew the new leather boot on a wire frame? cant say ive ever sewed in my life lol!!

Any help is appreciated!

Undo your center console , that is the handbrake boot and the center glove box..2 screws 1 on each side beside your seat belt buckle.

take the center console off , turn it around squeeze the leather boot out of the plastic clips.

its really easy there is no need to undo the screw behind the astray.

when i did mine.. R34.. i undid the screw behind the ashtray.. removed the gear surround (had to do this anyways for gear surround).. and then reached in from there and removed the wire from the clips..

then i pulled it up and over the handbrake.. the new one i got already had a 'wire' in the boot.. i simply slid the new one over and clipped it back in

where are you getting it from? i need a handbrake boot =/

is it original or what?

Send pablo101 a PM on here. He does group buys for leather 32 and 33 skylines plus some other models. He may get some made for 34's. They are a straight swap no stitching required. The wire is already in place.

getting it off a guy on the forums

pablo101 like the person said above.

genuine nissan ones... 50 for the pair.

I suggest give him a pm... he may some some left over from last group buy.

i plan to do a DIY with pics for this so its easy for people next time :D

Seeing you got it from Pablo101, there will be no sewing required. It already has the wire in it. Just undo the screws for the centre console, pull the old boot out and push the new one in. It doesn't take long at all.

hey guys

i just swapped it out.

Very easy.

just take out the 2 nuts inside the centre console

put ur hand under it and give the hand brake boot a bit of a push and squeeze and it will come off. Dont forget to unbutton it.

slide the new one in place (over the top of the hand brake) and just mould the wire frame into the plastic clips... button it up and done! all fixed... :P

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
