How many posts did this person have? Are they a SAU victoria member?

If they have close to no posts and arent associated with the club i dont understand why ANYONE would willingly transfer someone money and expect to get something. Chances of you getting your money back are pretty much 0. Live and learn, do COD next time.

i think they had a few posts i dont think they are a sau member. What if i went to cops about it after still having the record of me transfering the money and all the messages from them. the cops could track there computer down cudnt they details etc?

he seemed like a decent person selling the item and also in the messages he had replied which was a few but now stopped like i was getting closed to busting him and its like he cudnt say anything else back to me cuase i had ways to out speak him sorta thing.

also by way he was from canberra so i couldnt do COD i had to get it sent.

na it wasnt a ps 3 it was a r32 body kit.

and i know i willingly handed over the money but its practicly stealing so i thought they still can get in trouble or cant it come under fraud or something like that?

and cause i have cop contactcs they mite be able to do something for me even if i generally go to the cop station and they say they cant. anyways i prob will just have to live with it and learn.

i can tell you one thing though im only buying stuff if i pay on pick up now and if i am picking it up.

Mate I feel your pain 100% but I'm just telling you how it is, the cops simply don't care, the can't and won't find him and the banks wont help either.

Problem is, I bet you don't have an address, phone number or maybe even a real name so how are the cops going to help?

Not a lot Admin can do, i get a lot of PM's about this...

End of the day if you blindly EFT money into someone's account... its not different to giving some random person $100 in the street.

Its VERY hard to track them down and the police (ive found) generally are not interested in following up especially if its small amounts.

Just having a bank account name means the cops then have to lodge forms with the bank to get details, then it comes back, then they gotta investigate etc etc.

Think of all the time/resources involved.

Not saying its right or i agree with the fact the cops dont care as i think internet scammers etc are more of a problem than a noisy exhaust... but thats just how it is.

We also cant give you the IP's and so on as its a privacy issue until the police make an official request (based on sufficient investigation)

By all means contact your local police station, sit down and see what options are there for you.

You might be lucky and get a response from them/bank and get the cash back. But then be prepared for the fact that you probably wont see a cent and learn from it.

Dont EFT to randoms. Only EFT to people with a good trader ratings, members of clubs, mods/admins, and so on. I've EFT'd to people lots, but they are what i would call known/trusted members that fit into one of the above categories.

Sorry i cant offer much more.

Cheers

Ash

I have seen forums around that post your ip in every post you make, maybe this forum should start doing that and therefore eliminate some some of the anonymity.

I personally would not care about have my ip published as im not here to do any thing wrong.

Woudlnt work as the scammer would then just simply use a proxy.

post up the bank details..

perhaps someone can do something exciting with it.

also, you should use paypal in the future. There very good with getting your money back :D Alot of the time they dont even give the seller a chance to explain.

This only works if the seller has cash in his account, has worked for me once though.

nah paypal will deduct the money from the persons paypal account, and if they have no money in there account and dont pay paypal back they will invoice / debt collector-a-tise them. Paypal isnt a bank so they can do as they please once you sign up.

Theres lots of 'paypal is a scam/ripped me off' websites around :D

    • Not sure the US can import anything other than the C34 Stagea's, but if you can and you need to to tow, DO NOT under any circumstances get an M35 Stagea. If it is just as a family car and your country/state allows it, absolutely and definitely get an M35 (3.5L if possible as it is effectively a 350Z) over a C34.

    • Thanks for that, I'll check it all out. I can always do the brakes last anyway if its a problem.  The 16's are super cool, if they do fit I'll cruise around with them for a bit.
    • Well, that's kinda the point. The calipers might interfere with the inside of the barrels 16" rims are only about 14" inside the barrels, which is ~350mm, and 334mm rotors only leave about 8mm outboard for the caliper before you get to 350, And.... that;s not gunna be enough. If the rims have a larger ID than that, you might sneak it in. I'd be putting a measuring stick inside the wheel and eyeballing the extra required for the caliper outboard of the rotor before committing to bolting it all on.
    • OK, so again it has been a bit of a break but it was around researching what had been done since I didn't have access to Neil's records and not everything is obvious without pulling stuff apart.
