Hello All,

Just wondering who is coming out to the Modern Reg' day this weekend.

For those who don't know about the event it a consistency based event and doesn't depend on outright performance. Basically you have a practice session in the morning and then you set a time based on your practise times.

For every 0.10sec you go slower than your set time you get 1 point and for every 0.10 you go quicker than your time you get 2 points; the person at the end of the day with the least amount of point wins the day.

There are 5 sessions during the day that consist of 4 to 6 laps, this is good for cars that aren't set up for the track as it reduces the chances of you having cooling issues.

There are a few car requirements like fire extinguisher, tow hooks and blue triangles you also need a helmet but you don't need a harness.

I wont be entering but will be going down to watch, my friend is taking his 300rwkw VLT on there. He ran a 1.22.1 last time.

Want to get a oil cooler kit on before I do any modern regularity events

Not a bad day! I got a little bit sunburnt on my face haha.

I didn't race, but I watched, waiting on a few more parts before I hit the track, I was with the white VL Turbo.

That rotor was spastic, loved it.

Can't wait till i get these few little things done and go out there myself.

Was quite a good day with some good results.

Finished first in the 1st and 2nd sessions with 12 and 18 points respectively and then blew out my points total in the 3rd session with 74 points but set a PB time of 1:24.52. Regained some consistency in the 4th session with 22 points and with a 5th session effort of 30 points I came second for the day.

For session places you get 5, 3 and 1 points respectively so I ended up with the most points for the day with 13 bonus points scored.

After my second placing in the first round and gaining 5 bonus points in that event finishing with the most points once again, I’m leading the championship with 61 points Vs' 56 for the second place.

There was an incident on the last lap of the 5th session though which as a result I will be pulling my engine out in the next couple weeks (the extra boost for 2 laps wasn't worth it lol) meaning I will be missing both All Jap Day and the next round of Modern Reg' (which I would have missed anyway as they are on the same day lol)

Nice man. Whats the event that they do for the quickest time wins? Sprint race or something? That'll be alot more competitive I think

That was Darren from PSi, 1:22.67 (round 2) was his fastest but he blew out his centre muffler and didn't make the last 2 sessions.

congrats on doing well following the 'regularity' side of things, pitty this will probably set you back now if you miss the next round :verymad:

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
