Inner West Crew Whoretown (toowong/st Lucia/kenmore/indooroopilly And Sometimes Sunnybank?)

I'm also running a Jim Berry clutch, and I have no qualms about doing it. The man knows what he is doing, and builds damn fine clutches. They sh*t all over the likes of some 'reputable' brands such as exedy. Good jap brands such as OS Giken, etc, sure, also great clutches, but my Jim Berry was far cheaper, more suitable for what I use it for, and drives like a stock clutch.

And speeking of rotaries, it looks like a super fast one might have decided to play for the Road 8 sprint championship :D . But even if he wins the last 2 rounds I should have him, as long as i get a half decent result in both.

Actually FD was 1 of the option when I was buying this car but seriously, the reputation/rumours rotary has made me steer away from them. The sleekness of the car is just so sexy.

Get my msg CoLin?

Yeah I'll let you know. Probably not keen so early. I hate getting up that early on days I don't have to :D

If this is that proposed morning touge, I didn't get one :P, but still possibly keen... ;)

do i dare ask the retail on one of those??

No need for retail when you have people selling on the forum! Anyway just go on Nengun and check. Probably close to 3k delivered.

Steer away with rumours?? ey....

They have to be the best designed sports car ever made in the last 30 years. The engine is great....the handling is 2nd to none. Every engine has a downfall if people don't look after them.

yeh i told them i want it cashed- they said 3 working days

ill go check on its progress at lunchhhh

sounds like you're enjoying the 180 too much :D

3k! jesus!

is that 2nd hand one including flywheel? cuz it doesnt look like it..

If Exedy was such a shit clutch why do they have world wide branches world wide and manufactures choose their clutches to be used in factory produced vehicles..

Daikin has been in the market for years and still goin strong..

exedy only gets a bad name from people floggin off fake shit that looks like exedy but not.. even NPC use exedy internals but they use their own clutch case..aswell as people choosing the wrong clutch for their application..

generally most people dont understand that its reccomended to do around 500km's of soft driving before u start to punch it.. its generally the same for the carbon clutches but they need to be at specific operating tempretures before it starts to work since its a specifc racing clutch.

Exedy/Daikin OEM clutches are terrific and do a fantastic job at what they are designed for. Their performance range however is a little sub par IMO. You are of course entitled to yours.

And just because a lot of people use something, that does not mean it is good, it just means people are sheep/stupid. I have found in my experience a great many people are both

Yea now that I know more, the engine rebuild after 100,000km probably is a rumour but still not very sure on fuel consumption (which is very much dependent on the driver). With occasional boosting mine goes for 450km per tank.

But yes, the looks of them is just amazing but still I would take a black 34 vspec over them.

I'd love one as a dedicated track car or weekender. Not a daily though

Just check Nengun for ya. Almost 2.5k delivered and it does include flywheel (which is why I thought its a good choice, save mucking around). Dont know about the 2nd hand 1 though. He mentioned its brand new and never fitted (car was stolen) so I would assume it comes with everything as a package.

It looks like the end of the universe outside. That's awesome.

TAS - do you drink coffee? I'm bored, and want an excuse to go driving in the dust, thought I might go to Stafford City to get coffee, if you want one too tell me and I'll get you one.

Yeah I can't say i heard about that one. Most sports car aren't good on fuel, 450 out of a tank is not that good really.

They are too pretty for the track

NOTHING is too pretty for the track :D

im sorry - is that coming from mr "no tristan i wont take my 31 drifting with you - shes too precious and clean"

WOW

track and drift two totally different things though...

Plus if i had the money to replace/repair her, I'd happily drift my 31

    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
    • In my head it does make sense to be a fuel problem since that is what I touched when cleaning the system. When I was testing with the fuel pressure gauge, the pressure was constantly 2.5 bar with the FPR vacuum removed. When stalling, the pressure was going up to 3.0 bar (which is how it should be on ignition).
    • ECUtalk pages don't mention they support the ABS computer (consult port has more than one CAN), so you might just need a different scan tool. But, I would expect ABS is a different light to the brake warning/handbrake light, do you see an ABS light come on for a few seconds when you turn the key from ACC to IGN? But since you said: I'd have a look at the ABS sensors in the rear hubs to make sure they are not damaged, disconnected etc.
    • OK, if it idles at 1000+ with the AAC, its not an idle airflow problem. The cold start valve just gives extra air when the engine is cold, but you have enough air without it to idle at 1000. I think you are back to a fuel problem, sorry. Can you see the fuel pressure staying constant or does it drop as the revs drop to a stall?
