Hmmm... dont know about that. I'll pop the question again next time to them. All I've ever read about failing when launching is the clutch. At the same time, I've read about someone constantly launching his stock 33gtr and it took him 2yrs or so before he change it. Not saying I know how the condition of the car is but considering I have been treating her quite well + not much been mention about things breaking from people, I'd said 1 or 2 launches shouldnt kill it.

No youtube at work. And... 2nd claim to page first post!

wow, serious? Is that what GT-R boys do?

7,000 rpm launch in my car = epic burnout

hell 3,000 rpm launch in my car = mild burnout :nyaanyaa:

7000rpm launch is soft. 8200rpm and dump the motherf**ker.

Martin you saw what happened when I launched it. 7k, dump clutch, squat & squirm and away we go. Gotta love AWD launches almost feels like cheating.

Work :'(. no utube.

I'm just thinking stock car, 7,000rpm launch, can't end well? But I may be wrong...

Weakest point of a stock GTR driveline is usually the clutch so it shits itself before you get a chance to ruin anything else. One or two launches won't hurt it that much.

Just picked up my keys btw so I can start moving in now hurrah :)

Supras I presume? They're nice but the choice of gtr over supra is pretty obvious when they're going for more than 130k in Singapore. Also, I dont find the supra sound very good (if you remembered how that black 1 sound like during the first EFI dyno). Hahaha.

There you go, seems GT-Rs ARE awesome enough to handle it.

P.S. Yes Colin, it feels like cheating because it IS cheating :nyaanyaa:

[FATGTR] sounded like a ballsack too at that dyno

Housewarming this weekend? Is Miss Cox gonna be there? Beach and bikini sounds good. Dan's back for the weekend too.

oh no shit dans back on wednesday tooooo!

im dropping my car down the coast some time this week - so i might as well hang for the day

fine print:

yes this means i need a lift from the workshop

Yea man. I dont know what the hells been done to the engine but I find stock gtr got the very nice burble sound. But supra, lets just say they sound different. This may make you happy but I find all highly mod cars with huge HP, more than 500 or 600hp sound like tractors. They all goes like te-ter-te-ter......BAM! I remember the sound from a 1000hp supra on youtube.

Tris: I'd be able to pick you up depending on the time. If its gonna be Saturday, I'll need to f**k off around 4 though to pick the wify up from work. SO anytime before that it'll be fine.

ps: flood control ftl

Yeah probably. Nobody cares if you cheat and win though. It's only when you cheat and lose that you know you fail at life.

pfft wasn't cheating you've got 300killerwasps. I needed to even the playing field lol :nyaanyaa:

Nah I'm in work I've just been doing all my running around for the unit during work hours lol. They've been pretty cool about it. If you're down the coast give us a ring and we can do lunch :)

Housewarming is a possibility will be moving in on Saturday and Sunday. Maybe come down on sunday arvo we can go get Fish n Chips at the Spit or find a quiet beach n have a BBQ? Let us know if anyone is keen.

I see what you did there. Wheres Miss Cox!?!?!?!?!??! Hahaha

Sounds like a plan. +1 from me. Dont mind helping out for the move too. Let me know the time when its been decided. Peter's Fish Market is good stuff next to Palazzo Versace. I'll be free only after church on Sunday though.

mann up people 2 step ftw !!! none of this 7k launch bullshit. limiter / 2nd gear dump

*american accent*

"this is my skyline GTRRRRRRR, we've tuned her up and shes pushing aorund 1200hp at the wheels, so whats it like driving my GTRR on the streets? well its not as drivable as say a 500hp GTR on the streets, but if you really push it up on the two step and smash through the gears you can have a lot of fun"

-in car camera-

*limiter shifts through to 3rd gear on a public road in america, and by 2nd gear you cant see shit its soo blurry*

im going to look for that dvd tonight

    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
