 General consensus. UK Drivers > Aussie drivers. The sheer amount of retards/people who have no business being in a car over here is ridiculous. They just get in the car and then switch off. Epic fail.

+1

ANY NATION (except France) > Australian drivers.

Stupid bogans :D and female drivers (runs and hides)

+ over 9000!

Dude we warned you MONTHS ago. We said if you buy a GTR you better have a stash of money for mods/servicing. You were warned by sooooo many people... now you see we weren't bullshitting

hehe john yer i knw mate, its not about the money, ive jst been planing to spend xmas with a good mate of mine who i havent seen for months even though he lives lke 60 ks from me, was busy with uni and shit, n now i cant go coz cars gona be at ERD, that what i was referring to to the f**king life up part, honestly i am quiet suprised the GTR hasnt let me down in any other aspect, ive had to spend alot less on the car then what some of my mates have to spend on their cars in qatar, and remeber were talkin mechanics being sourced from third world countries and beign payed around 200 or 300 dollars a month there, so its quite an amazing achievement lol,

im spending 3/4 of what im spending becoz of what i wana do to the car i.e mods, if i was just to spend for stuff that breaks and services, then maintance costs are pretty good for such an amazing car.

I was thinking of moving into the rebuilding / reconditioning business of engines, i have most of the tools and all of the ability/knowledge to construct an engine, i currently am the engine rebuilder at our work also very good at rebuilding gearboxes.

Bunta:

As for rb25 NEO into a ceffy, you should get onto Kev Rowley, send him the loom and he will make it work for your application, smity got kev to wire in his 25 for his R31. Very good guy and very cheap work cause he's a retired man. Also owns a very cool VG33 powered 120Y

As for workshops? i got nothing again most shops, there are some that i will never take my car too, as for EFI and ERD i won't comment, i have had no experience personally with them and from what i hear around the industry they are very good at what they do. Being a mechanic myself i know what a bad rep can do for a company, you can't fix everything or satisfy everyone but i know there is a big number of people on here that use them and lots of people saying how good they are. I need to select someone to tune my car once its built so i will be leaning towards these guys.

As for street racing? i admit in the past i have done some dumb sh*t on the street, got myself into situations that i have only just recovered from. As i get older i realise how stupid some of the stuff i did was and i am changing my ways, i still enjoy a spirited run with martin and a couple others in the hills late at night/ early morning but no 200km/h highway runs or speeding in built up areas. I only have 1 point until april then i get 8 back in march 2011

In before all :)

Damn your oiley hide..

What would be causing my idle to adjust a lot ? It sits on 2000 then it'll drop to 900 odd then up to 1000 down 900 up 1200 up 2000 down 1000. It's all over the show :)

So i felt like some nuggets last night. Went to KFC, ordered my 18 nuggets in the drive through, get my box of goodness and go. When I open said box, there is no nuggets in it and instead: 4 wings :). Debated for a bit whether to just eat the wings, but in the end principal, and the fact i really wanted nuggets, won out so I went back. Found the manager "whas goin on here breh?". He goes off his tree at the drive though bloke (which immediately made me feel better :)), then goes and gets me nuggets, and tells me I can keep the wings as well. Plus there was about 25 nuggets in the box, and they were all fresh. Win.

    • As far as I can tell I have everything properly set in the Haltech software for engine size, injector data, all sensors seem to be reporting proper numbers.  If I change any injector details it doesnt run right.    Changing the base map is having the biggest change in response, im not sure how people are saying it doesnt really matter.  I'm guessing under normal conditions the ECU is able to self adjust and keep everything smooth.   Right now my best performance is happening by lowering the base map just enough to where the ECU us doing short term cut of about 45% to reach the target Lambda of 14.7.  That way when I start putting load on it still has high enough fuel map to not be so lean.  After 2500 rpm I raised the base map to what would be really rich at no load, but still helps with the lean spots on load.  I figure I don't have much reason to be above 2500rpm with no load.  When watching other videos it seems their target is reached much faster than mine.  Mine takes forever to adjust and reach the target. My next few days will be spent making sure timing is good, it was running fine before doing the ECU and DBW swap, but want to verify.  I'll also probably swap in the new injectors I bought as well as a walbro 255 pump.
    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
    • In my head it does make sense to be a fuel problem since that is what I touched when cleaning the system. When I was testing with the fuel pressure gauge, the pressure was constantly 2.5 bar with the FPR vacuum removed. When stalling, the pressure was going up to 3.0 bar (which is how it should be on ignition).
    • ECUtalk pages don't mention they support the ABS computer (consult port has more than one CAN), so you might just need a different scan tool. But, I would expect ABS is a different light to the brake warning/handbrake light, do you see an ABS light come on for a few seconds when you turn the key from ACC to IGN? But since you said: I'd have a look at the ABS sensors in the rear hubs to make sure they are not damaged, disconnected etc.
