Inner West Crew Whoretown (toowong/st Lucia/kenmore/indooroopilly And Sometimes Sunnybank?)

i would have my foot 1/4 way down on the clutch while going up the slopes so that the car wouldnt shudder and stall LOL, good old leanring manual days, i dont do that anymore but in the beginning it was pretty much inexperience and i was scared that the car would stall or roll back or something, u get what i mean ?

.....so... just let me make sure I have this right... you were keeping the clutch IN to STOP the car from rolling backwards down the hill?

:P:bunny::huh::D

I think my brain is starting to melt....

1/4 or 1/3 Engaged.... Isnt thats what riding is (maybe a bit of throttling)? The car will move without any throttling but will 100% stall on a twin.

buahahah yes i was a very very big noob mate, i would feather it all the way up , not on every slope though, just where i would need to get the car up from a standing still,

hard to explain bro, just all i can say was i was a noob and the big change wasnt easy at first, but hey you learn along the way and get used to it

I'd like to read something on a comparison though. I was told by Gavin, Matt and Mark (other than Mark recommending vipec) that running afm would have better fuel economy and easier to tune (comparison between pfc and dejetro).

Fuel economy :P ? What fuel economy :bunny: ? Its a skyline

I'd soon be saying the same thing when I only get to drive her on my 4days break every fortnight!

You not got an ECU yet ?

Nope  I 'was' going for the nistune but now I'm not sure if I'm going to keep my car or not. Nistune being a cheap and very effective option...

Ask any mechanical engineer and they'll tell you if you want max power, forget about it being economical....

whats wrong with blitz filters? i have a mines induction kit with blitz sus air cleaner filters or something, cant tell exactly coz all the papers and instructions for them are in japanese, i do find though that they make very little induction noise compared to apexi ones , you can really hear the induction with apexi filters, i was gona get them changed but theyr washable so just asked Dan to clean them up for me.

Poor filtration and poor flow.

I'd say thats more of a PFC failing than anything.

But then again I can never understand tuners. My mate was telling me last night that a tuner had told him the best way to tune a VQ35 was without a AFM OR MAP sensor, but just using the TPS and RPM. I have NFI how that is supposed to work.

Oh mangz thats no fun then . . . hehe

I can still hate you anyway, if you like?

Middlemount. 2hrs drive from Emerald towards Mackay.

Nice! I was born in Mackay.

Whats out there? A mine or something?

1/4 or 1/3 OUT. Isnt thats what riding is (maybe a bit of throttling)? The car will move without any throttling but will 100% stall on a twin.

They way I read it is that he was driving it up hills and leaving it in high gear (ie 4th or 5th) and then as it loaded up up the hill it started to struggle, so he held the clutch in instead of changing down a gear :P

:P

he's at it again!

lol

Ahh k fair enough ! ! !

And yeah I agree, If you want power you just have to learn to let go of fuel economy

Wooo thanks man

+1

I didn't think there was a particularly good option for nistunes on 25s?

Either having to use a 20 ECU and lose VCT, or doing some sort of dodgy on a Z32 ecu?

You can't trust them though, they're always drunk.

What he said

300kms to a tank FTW

350! Suck sh*t!

haha i just realised the more you guys know about me the more you will realise i am just your average 18 year old guy who is making the big leap to proper adulthood, im still stupid and immature often , but i dont consider turning 18 or geting a fancy 18+ card to get into clubs and drink or buy smokes legally makes you an adult, you become an adult when you have learnt alot and apply what youve learnt in life to make mature and sensible decisions for yourself and realise the consequences that your decisions have on people who are close to you, perfect example, when i go to uni and socialise i see guys and girls who are 20+ years old some even close to 25 and you would be really find it difficult to distinguish between them and a 13 year old kid at high school if you were asked to.

Oh good! I'm not the only one!! <3

And I drive a shitload harder than you do. I don't feel so bad now :P

Yeah Im looking forward to seeing how much I get when I thrash it for a tank

    • Ahhh, I need the whole head unit. I definitely needed to roll back through and review your setup, ha ha! Neat setup they have going on. I just need a full double din head unit. But I want good and responsive. I might have to review what the likes of pioneer have out these days.
    • Ok so after much research and talking with knowledgeable people I've got my turbo conversion done and it's all running great other than 1 small issue.  Car has remained auto with the na auto and tcm, I've used a stagea ecu with. NIstune board and everything is great other than my gear selection on the dash. It illuminates park, reverse, neutral, 3rd and 2nd. But nothing drive or what gear your in when you pop it into tiptronic.  I'm sure there is may e 1 wire in the ecu plug I need to move to rectify this. Dose anyone here have any ideas?   Cheers guys
    • Sorry I haven't been following all the detail, so you may have tried this. Does it idle with the tiniest bit of throttle you can add? You've mentioned the IACV, does it have an AAC valve and have you adjusted it at all (ie, screw the idle adjust screw all the way in, then back it out a couple of turns until idle is stable)?
    • My bad, I unplugged the one underlined in red instead of yellow before. With the car started, after unplugging the IACV (the one underlined in yellow), it idled at around 400/500 for 3 seconds before stalling. Attempting to start the car without the IACV will not start the car.   It does stutter and sputter for around 5 seconds before dying. However, immediately after starting it, you can already hear some slight sputters from the exhaust.   It won't start with the AFM unplugged. If it is when the car has already started, it stalls in a few seconds.   Yesterday, I did take some logs using Nistune of 3 scenarios. Car idling till it stalls Car idling and unplugging the IACV Car idling and removing the AFM I also have some previous logs of when the Car is idling till it stalls and when driving and it cuts. I am not really knowledgeable enough to understand what to look for. After every test, car idles rougher and rougher, until I have to stop. It will be fine the day after.
    • There is no difference between a 17x8 and an 18x8. The total diameter of the tyre needs to remain +/- the same (so you don't mess up the gearing, speedo reading, and clearance when turning front wheels..... so you just need to use a lower profile tyre on th 18 than you do on the 17. /rocket surgery.
