Dan: When you're back? I think my roster is the alternate of yours. Let me know which weekend you're free or post up an event thread. I'll definitely be up for it.

I know a lot of engineers and 80% of them are weirdos. I think it's because they think way too logically to survive. The other 20% are awesome. Like me. :bunny:

You rock my world :P

And Me! :P

Surely you are used to it by now?

Yeah but I don't enjoy it yet

To lose weight i would need to exercise...when i exercise losing muscle for me doesnt happen, even with just cardio my fat% goes down but weight stays the same...to be 80kg i would have to stop eating and moving until muscle started wasting away.....GOOD ADVICE BMI! stoopid f**king thing it is

Oh and step 3 is "be more awesome than you already are"

If you do cardio now I doubt you would put on muscle mass. Shed fat, lean muscle. PROFIT.

Ok. We're on the same roster then. Let us know when you wanna do it.

im telling ya it doesnt happen, all i do is cardio have lost some over all weight (3kg) but have lost 6kg of fat, i will get down to 89 or 90 kg and be at 8% or 9% body fat and have no where to go from the point of view of body fat....yet still be 'over weight' Hence my argument that the people who push BMI as a useful indicator are retarded

@ Bunta : All i can say is you have bloody good genetics, i havent been working out coz my diet was shit, and ive lost so much mass, but muscle mass mostly not fat, im 5 foot 6 and have around 17% Bodyfat, i failed miserably at bulking becoz i didnt do cardio and ate like a animal

went from 55KG to 69KG now, 11 inch arms to nearly 13 now, so very good gains compared to skinny old me, but ive always been bulky, even when i was lighter, i still had a high bodyfat percenatge, runs in the family, my dad is the only one who has good genetics but he also suffers from the bodyfat problem, he was an amateur powerlifter and at 57 now he can still put me to shame with one flex of arms and can lift about 5 times as much as me without a drop of sweat.

BMI isn't very helpful in terms of am I healthy or not I agree. I guess you're lucky since your body doesnt seem to want to eat muscle lol. When I stopped playing soccer/racing bmx everything died in ass and I went from like 63kg and 7/8% body fat to 75kg lol. I grew a fair bit taller as well though but most of it is fat rather than muscle. Now I just cba training to lose it lol.

if you judge your health by BMI then i would technically be healthier when i was 55 and i know theres no way i was healthy back then, i was bullimic or anoerexic or whatever to maintain that weight,

at 69Kg now according to BMI im just over the normal threshold into overweight

i feel healthier stronger etc etc

Bodyfat percentage is a better measure of how much wieght u need to loose imo

And Adam and Colin yep ive always been lucky my body has always been able to get into condition really quickly with minimal training, though its gets a little harder each time the closer i get to 30!

f**king hate you :P

yep genetics plays a key role in how your body is, ive always wanted to be a professional bodybuilder since i was 5 or 6 years old, i remeber seeing arnold on stage in videos and i knew since then that it what i wanted to be, i trained with my dad for a while, but i was scared it was effecting my growth, i grew sideways instead of growing taller during puberty lol so i stopped training until last year, i dont really care now, i dont think i will grow much more, so i will train and set my diet right for the next couple of years, then you reach a point where you body cant grow anymore, with my height i wont be able to really pack on more than 16 inch arms, thats where you make one of the most important decisions of your life, whther your doing it for fun or you wana devote your life to it, i try not to think about that stage yet coz im nowhere close to it,

but yeah after that if you wana make money and a career out of it, then you have to use roids, i have many mates who used them and still do, i have 2 cousins who are professional bodybuilders in pakistan,

i remeber my dads trainer, he was philpino, 5 foot 3 inches tall and had 23 inch arms, that dude was juicing since he was 14 lol, such a funny sight, he was kinda like lee preist but shorter n looked like a midget but he won many amateur competitions in his time,

anyway back on health, yes eat healthy and stop eating junk and genetics can be overcome to a degree with everyone

you're coming to pick me up or if not I'm going to Southport RSL to play APL for shits and giggles since my internet doesn't get connected until tomorrow and I need my poker fix.

since none of you carnts has even asked me if i would like to go for a ride or something, il be going out with Rob to mt. cootha or something, or mayb rockup at the carwash depending on where he wants to go,

il just sit here on my couch while all of youz enjoy your cars and ice cream,

wheres the love between fellow skyline owners

    • This. The R34 handbrake icon DOES come up when the brake fluid level is low. You might be sitting right on that threshhold. I have been down this diagnosis path and this was the solution (and it was pretty much as full as your picture is to begin with).
    • Unfortunately the cavaet to that is that while any scan tool should be able to read the code, the workshop will need a consult plug to OBD socket adapter. You don't have a location on your profile, where are you based?
    • @Haggerty this is your red flag. In MAP based ECU's the Manifold pressure X RPM calculation is how the engine knows it is actually...running/going through ANY load. You are confusing the term 'base map' with your base VE/Fuel table. When most people say 'base map' they mean the stock entire tune shipped with the ECU, hopefully aimed at a specific car/setup to use as a base for beginning to tune your specific car. Haltech has a lot of documentation (or at least they used to, I expect it to be better now). Read it voraciously.
    • I saw you mention this earlier and it raised a red flag, but I couldn't believe it was real. Yes, the vacuum signal should vary. It is the one and only load signal from the engine to the ECU, and it MUST vary. It is either not connected or is badly f**ked up in some way.
    • @Haggerty you still haven't answered my question.  Many things you are saying do not make sense for someone who can tune, yet I would not expect someone who cannot tune to be playing with the things in the ECU that you are.  This process would be a lot quicker to figure out if we can remove user error from the equation.
