Inner West Crew Whoretown (toowong/st Lucia/kenmore/indooroopilly And Sometimes Sunnybank?)

Caterhams aren’t, PRB’s and Westfield replicals are everywhere.

A current Caterham is still a $100k car..

a 70's - 80's Caterham will bring anything from $30k - $70k

base model goes for about 13,000 pounds in the UK (kit form). Granted thats probably still about $50k AUD

yep 400hp in a s13 goes quite nicely! Though i just read the reccomend a rebuild every 30 hours? screw that

Never! but V8s with ITBs are sex, and when was the last time you saw a v8 s13?! It would be an interesting project. Perhaps you need one for your mower?

LS1 S13 do it.

Don't think the will sell you a Caterham kit unless you're in the UK. You can only import the pre assembled ones from their factory. Not 100% but I'm sure I've read it somewhere on their site.

Turn key, ADR spec, will cost you about 100k on road for a "2010" one.

Correct.

Transport are comming down HARD on the imported 70's and 80's Caterham's at moment as webers are not ADR spec and they didn't come with collapsible steering columns, amoung other things

Caterham have beaten us to the punch. Supercharged 2.4L V8. 115k pounds though.

Would be the way I'd go for a v8 S13. It has all been done before and there are a few places doing kits now. Easy 400hp and dickloads of torque forever and ever amen. No heavier than an RB26 either.

You come (almost) every week, doesn't need moar you.

I was listing the slackers who haven't been turning up lately

True... last week was the only week I haven't been there so far. Although I did turn up... just it was when you and Dan were leaving :D

in my experience they are surprisingly un-torquey for the size of the f**king things!

They make like 350hp at 4kish and 350ft lbs of torque from 2k. Easy enough for an S13. exhaust, intake and a reflash should see 400hp and more torque again

It's still 5.7L's of pushrod shit.... If you'd want a v config motor that's kinda unique go the vq30det. 210kw's and 386 Nm @3600 rpm from factory :)

Whos coming out tonight? Needs more tractors, emos, croats, SAUQLD members, boats, gabnrs, etc

No tractors, no emos, no SAUQLD peeps, no boats and no gabnrs :(

Just a croat and some etcs. f*cking weak effort guys :)

It's still 5.7L's of pushrod sh!t....

Morning boys and girls :D

Morning mang

Can someone please look at this picture and tell me what the highlighted areas represent?

Im guessing here, but i reckon the 88/88/80 is the amount of dish, and the 51/39/31 probably has something to do with how much brake clearance you get...

EDIT: Or possibly the other way round...

    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
    • In my head it does make sense to be a fuel problem since that is what I touched when cleaning the system. When I was testing with the fuel pressure gauge, the pressure was constantly 2.5 bar with the FPR vacuum removed. When stalling, the pressure was going up to 3.0 bar (which is how it should be on ignition).
    • ECUtalk pages don't mention they support the ABS computer (consult port has more than one CAN), so you might just need a different scan tool. But, I would expect ABS is a different light to the brake warning/handbrake light, do you see an ABS light come on for a few seconds when you turn the key from ACC to IGN? But since you said: I'd have a look at the ABS sensors in the rear hubs to make sure they are not damaged, disconnected etc.
    • OK, if it idles at 1000+ with the AAC, its not an idle airflow problem. The cold start valve just gives extra air when the engine is cold, but you have enough air without it to idle at 1000. I think you are back to a fuel problem, sorry. Can you see the fuel pressure staying constant or does it drop as the revs drop to a stall?
