hey guys, i just picked up my new skyline today... going from a NA skyline to turbo is such a big difference, a huge smile comes on my face everytime i floor it :P

I just have a few questions because im not too sure of these things - the guy said it has a boost controller but its running stock boost (0.5 bar) with a turbo back exhaust. anyway, he said the boost controller was the thing under the HKS Turbo timer (in the pic). Im not sure how to operate it tho?

also with the HKS timer - is there a auto feature where it automatically judges how long it needs to cooldown or do you just set it manually?

in the 2nd pic, theres this 'Pivot turbo timer' thing under the dash aswell... im not sure what this does if anyone could shed some light...

i know its alot of questions but any help would be appreciated.

Thanks !

You can set your turbo timer to what ever you want for Auto or you can manually adjust before you leve the car. I don't use one as I don't think they are neccesary. As for your boost controller I wouldnt go playing with the boost untill your ready to upgrade you don't want to f**k anything up.

I cant see shit from that last pic lol

I have that Pivot timer in mine, if im driving around off boost i shut her down straight away but if ive been spooling it up a bit i give it 1 min, if ive been going hard ill give it 3 min with the bonnet up.

But thats me, lol.

LOL

thats intense bro,

my timer decides on what how long to kick it for by itself,

how do you set it into Auto mode?

the HKS one has 4 buttons... UP / Down / Power / Memory

also found out on the net that the Pivot ACS-M is a Air flow conditioner and not a boost controller... cant find any info on what it does tho

    • Update all   thanks to the workshop manual, it lead me back to checking fuses as mentioned central locking and door open lights worked when acc was switched on. diagram attached shows two points of power 1. ACC and 2.  Batt with the later being fused (#28) I did check the fuses using a multimeter but I must have stuffed that up also. Went back and checked the batt fuse in interior fuse box and you wouldn’t believe it… a blown fuse. replaced fuse and everything is now working as it should including the climate control   thank you all with your positive insight and knowledge.
    • Where is the warning "That this thread is super old"   I just went into a 5 year old thread, went to do a reply, and couldn't see anywhere obvious a warning of it being super old
    • Duncan is correct. Pitwork (and Toyota's own cheap brand "Drive Joy") were primarily created as brands to sell other manufacturers car parts. It would be weird if Nissan sold parts for Toyota vehicles with a Nissan logo on it, so they created Pitwork to sell parts for other brans Toyota, Honda etc. They are not the same as Nissan genuine parts, although they *do* meet Nissan's standards for replacement parts. They aren't supposed to be a substitute for genuine parts, but a cheaper alternative that is better than Ebay fake parts from you-know-where.
    • Thanks GTSBoy, much easier to work with it now it's free!
    • I _think_ that one has a christmas tree or some other retainer spike into a hole in that panel under it. Come in under it with thin scredrivers and just pry it gently up. If you rip the ears off the retainer pin....so what? Just stick it back down after with a bit of race tape and carry on with life.
