Well i'm heading to Japan next week and would like to get a few things while i'm there like cam sprockets, indicators, boost controller etc. Things i can fit in my bag and bring home. I'll be in Osaka, then Kamakura, then Kyoto, then Kobe, then Himeji then Tokyo.

Anyone know of any good cheap places that sell second hand or new stuff? I'll be there for the Tokyo Auto Salon and the D1 Drifting comp... so it should be good

Thanks

Andrew

The Tokyo Auto Salon is in January, so unless your 'next week' means something different to mine, I think you are going to be disappointed.

Given the strength of your info, I'd check the D1 dates too.

Everything you're after can be purchased via autobacs. The trouble being, most of it will probably have to be ordered, which may take a week - possibly a problem for you. Some will say that autobacs is expensive, but I'd disagree, I've shopped around and their prices are the same as the companies whos parts they distribute. Do a search in this forum for autobacs, I've posted a store map link before.

Your other option is to go direct to the maufacturer. I can tell you where all the good rx7 workshops are, but I'm afraid I don't know as much about skyline workshops. I'm sure there are peope here that can fill you in.

For 2nd hand parts - http://www.upgarage.com/index.html

plenty of stores all around japan (and there are plenty of smaller operations that do the same thing).

Tokyo Motor Show i mean... http://www.tokyo-motorshow.com/show/2003/e...BLIC/index.html

Dunno about the D1, but was told it's at the end of October so i'll find out once i'm there.

Thanks for the link, but i don't speak japanese :(

Andrew, you coming to Kobe? Dude, my local SuperAutobacs at Sushine Wharf has all that stuff your after... and it's in stock too (I went there yesterday).

Send us a PM if you want to hook up.

Sorry dudes... my mate posted this from my PC... i forgot that i log in automatically. But HE will be in japan next week. I wish i was!!! He drives a 300ZX, but is getting me some go fast goodies

I'll be there around feb/mar next year though!

Thanks Rezz, i'll let my mate know.

    • Nope, needed to clearance under the bar a little with a heat gun, a 1/2" extension as the "clearancer", and big hammer, I was aware of this from the onset, they fit a 2.0 with this intake no problems, but, the 2.5 is around 15mm taller than a 2.0, so "clearancing" was required  It "just" touched when test fitting, now, I have about 10mm of clearance  You cannot see where it was done, and so far, there's no contact when giving it the beans Happy days
    • It's been a while since I've updated this thread. The last year (and some) has been very hectic. In the second-half of 2024 I took the R34 on a trip through Germany, Italy, France and Switzerland - it was f*cking great. I got a little annoyed with the attention the car was getting around Europe and really didn't drive it that much. I could barely work on the car since I was living in an inner-city apartment (with underground parking). During the trip, the car lost power steering in France - split hose - and I ended up driving around 4,000kms with no power steering.  There were a few Nurburgring trips here and there, but in total the R34 amassed just shy of 7,000kms on European roads. Long story short, I broke up with the reason I was transferred to Europe for and requested to be moved back to Japan. The E90, loved it. It was a sunk cost of around EUR 10,000 and I sold it to a friend for EUR 1,500 just to get rid of it quickly. Trust me, moving countries f*cking sucks and I could not be bothered to be as methodical as I was the first time around.
    • I assume clearances were all a-okay?
