rb25 valves

Hi, I swapped a rb25det into my 240sx here in the US awhile back. The bolt that holds down the pulley opposite the timing belt tensioner broke off while I was driving and now I think my valves are probably bent. I haven't pulled the head yet, but I'm not getting any compression.

My question is, are there any other nissan valves that are compatible with the rb25's head (vg30de)? I don't have a source for rb valves here in the state, and it's been a pain trying to track some down from japan. Thanks for any advise.

same thing happened to me. Idler bearing bolt was over tightened. I woudnt even bother trying to fix it. The pistons probably mashed, the head might need machining, rods / crank anything could be stuffed.

My $0.02 - get a second hand motor put in. Cheapest option.

Thats right a second hand motor is the cheapest option..

Mine did the same thing. Is this a common problem with these motors? I have pulled my head and everything and the pistons and rods are fine. Only some of the valves bent but I need to get new ones or upgrade. Any suggestions?

I think it would have to do more with the person servicing the car. Hence over tightening bolts.

The bolts are so damn cheap anyhow so it might be good practice to replace the bolt/studs when you do the cam belt.

to late now to tell me to replace it mine already broke, I never messed with it so it much have been over torqued before I ever got it.
