Hey boys and girls i was on this forum a couple years ago but i ended up buying a 2005 wrx which was recently taken from me by an *sshole driving a 4wd with a bullbar running a red light at 80kms into my side.

Anyway the insurance came through n after payin off a huge chunk of debt i've recently picked up a mint yellow r34 GT-T 5spd, (loving the rwd).

Im not the biggest fan of the guys i bought the car from so i'm looking for a mechanics that'll be able to look after and service her properly, i live in st kilda but im willing to travel within reason,

so anywhere in the eastern suburbs would be great.

I'd like to hear from you guys on how much you are paying per service, how often, who you trust with your cars etc.

All help appreciated people, my names James n i'm glad to finally be a member that actually owns a skyline, thanks.

hey mate. welcome back...i guess lol

congrats on the buy. as very service i take my 34Gtt to RE customs

just got mine service a month ago by them and $180 got me plugs, oil, oil filter, tranny oil and diff oil change plus a quick check ton tune to make sure all is running well. have always gone to them and never had any trouples with any of my skylines.

general serivce you would be look at between $100-$120. best to call and ask.

but ye RE is aweosme.

The mechanic I go to is the best i've every gone to.

Edge Automotive in Bayswater. His name is Phil.

One morning my oil pressure switch in my old car broke and I needed it to drive to the airport that night. It was a Sunday and his day off but I rang him to see what he could do. He ended up coming into work and fixing my car for $50 and I was running a bit late picking it up and he said he had gotten bored and did a wheel balance, was going to do an alignment but I got there before he did :P

I've recommended him a to a few people and they haven't been disappointed.

He is also doing the pre-purchase inspection of my skyline tomorrow, hope it goes well!

+1 For RE Customs.

I went there for 100,000 Service, in and out in no time, and surprisingly rather than do everything and charge me $1k+, they only replaced what needed replacing and said that the pump, belt etc still had about 40,000k in them, so come back then! (saving me about $600).

Only complaint I had was that the girl on the desk was a bit of an artwork - Looked nice, but was of little practical value.

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
