R34 Air Con Not Working

Hey all,

As of a few months ago my air con stopped working. Originally my A/C was making a terrible whirring noise and wasn't working very well. Got it checked out and turns out the fan was being ceased by hair, dirt, etc. They cleaned it out and it worked fine again for a while but now its stopped completely. I've noticed that the A/C itself is working but the fan is apparently farkled.

Spoken to the mob that cleaned it in the first place and they say the fan is attached to a circuit board of some kind which APPARENTLY would cost heaps to replace.

Can anyone provide any insite into this part/problem?

it might be the fan speed control unit - not sure if R34 is the same as R33

no harm in checking anyway
