Hello all.

Please bear with me as I work out how this forum works, etc. The story goes that I live and work in a remote region of W.A and because there is nothing else to do out here, I have decided to build my own dream version of a R32 GTR. The theme borders around time attack, as I feel that is what the GTR was made for. This is my second GTR and I hope to have learned from the mistakes I made with building the first one. The trick is that living far from suburbia means buying parts in and finding a way to fit them myself or with the aid of others in the neighbourhood.

Perth is 700km away and the closest I have to any recognised tuners. Out here, Holden and Ford V8's rule supreme and very few mechanics know what a turbo is unless you are referring to Caterpiller haul trucks.

Home is my workshop and my workshop is a single car shed that the GTR doesn't fit into. Despite this, I intend to build a car that will blow away all the V8's out here. The car is called Mines@mines as it is a reasonably rare Mines built car that lives amongst the Gold and Nickel mines of outback W.A.

If there is interest in the build, I will start posting up pic's. So far, she is being stripped of all excess weight and a lot of carbon fibre being thrown in to help the HKS 2530 spec engine move it all to the horizon.

This is a fun build and I think many GTR owners will find interesting. I am sure to need a lot of advice and help, so feel free to comment at any time.

All the best, Jim

The car is an '89 spec that is clean in body and paint. The engine has HKS 2530 turbos and dumps and power fc computer. The fueling system is stock and the injectors are running at 98% at just 12psi boost. The exhaust was a big, heavy mild steel item of unknown brand that weighed 31kg from the cat back! It is to be replaced with a titanium version soon.

Nismo 600cc injectors have been purchased (at $460 second hand) and checked for flow and new seals fitted. A Tomei intank fuel pump has also been bought, so that should go a long way to fixing the fueling issues for now. To help 'pretty' her up, I have also bought a new Sard fuel regulator and a second hand Trust fuel rail to go with the proflow fittings and braided lines. Second hand will be a common theme in this build and was a prime reason for buying the GTR in the first place. Lots of mods available cheap.
